In all serious, I doubt it.
But the Flames, assuming there’s no big huge slide the next 3 weeks, are going to need to add at the deadline to be able to fill a hole here or there for depth. And that’s probably even before the real answers come on Frolik, Versteeg, and to a lesser extent obviously, Jagr.
Lomberg or Klimchuk or Magipane or anyone currently on Stockton aren’t likely to cut it as the first choice for playoff run depth.

Iginla obviously has zero acquisition cost, which is his big appeal as a warm body, assuming he’s even at the level he was last year in LA, which isn’t a given.

This is an absurd statement. Of course guys don't forget how to play hockey, they get older and can no longer play at the NHL level. It's happened to literally every player who has ever played the game, there CroFlames.

iginla has a depth move to play on the 4th line is fine by me.

I have every faith that swapping Brouwer out of his PP icetime and putting iginla there would see a net positive for the team.

I also think that guys like Kassian smarten up if Iginla's on the ice.

But if the intention is for iginla to play regular shifts on the top 6, then no, he's not the answer.

I love you guys, and I love Jarome, but replacing Brouwer with a guy who's significantly older, longer in the tooth and coming off hip surgery does not sound like a good idea in any way.

Freeway my head says you are 100% right. But it’s just that one guy is Troy Brouwer and the other guy is Jarome Iginla. If Iginla says he has something in the tank, I’d like to see him get a shot.
