Walker is totally off, time to get him out of the game before this becomes a complete mess.

Not a chance. Yankees aren't even supposed to be here. Predicted to be last in the East.

The Yankees losing is always good. But when ESPN dedicates the entire game recap to trashing Girardi for being a managing buffoon, that's even better.

Season saving five run, eighth inning rally for the Nationals with homers by Harper and Zimmerman. At least we got one competitive series so far.

AJ Hinch trying to get himself fired too, horrific decision to waste Verlander for game 5, and it appears we're going to get there now.

Schwarber absolutely ####s the bed on a routine pop out to end the inning, Nats punish the Cubs and take the lead. Scherzer still working a no hitter.

Think Maddon went to the pen too quick as well.

Quintana has been rolling before the error - no need to go to the pen there - he had struck out 4 of the previous 5 batters before that error.

I can't remember the last time I cheered for the Yankees but I hope they light up that ######bag Bauer tonight.

There are multiple sportsnet channels but they're all showing the Yankees game. Why isn't the Dodgers game on one of them?

His MO is usually the opposite of course. I think pulling Scherzer wasn't awful, but to not use either of your best relievers in a tie game that you probably need more than the Cubs do is a bit mystifying.

Really? He had Keuchel for game 5 and brought Verlander in with a lead. Seems like a decent decision to avoid game 5, which they did.

They won in spite of the decision though, that clearly backfired. Offense bailed him out, otherwise he'd be getting the Girardi treatment right now.

Crappy ending to a great season for the D-Backs. Abysmal pitching and an offence that simply couldn't get it done against LA. Kudos to the Dodgers as they certainly showed why they were the best team in MLB this year during this series.

Now hoping for a Houston/LA World Series.

Why was it a bad decision though? He had every reason to believe Verlander would give him a few strong innings to hand over to his closer. It was the bottom of the fifth so also there was no reason to believe the offense was done. And like I said he had Keuchel for game 5, so there is no drop off. He wanted to make sure he used his best pitchers as much as possible.

I don't see the comparison to the Girardi gaffe.
