I imagine that 1st was either 15th OA in 2015 from Calgary before the Hamilton trade or 16th OA in 2015 from the Oilers before they made the (lol) Griffin Reinhart trade.

Treliving and the Flames pro scouts were after Jones before he proved himself, they were after Talbot before he proved himself, and they were after Matt Murray before he proved himself. If they believe Raanta is on that type of level as well then who am I to disagree?

I've seen on-line proposals where the Flames give up 16th overall plus a prospect (Rittich?) for 21st overall and Raanta and that doesn't seem like too bad of an idea.

Thing here is, what if we are already sitting on a Raanta type quality goalie in Rittich ? Rittich is older and did phenomenal in Stockton.

Well, dropping from 16th to 21st is worth a 2nd round pick. We see it every year pretty much.

Is Rittich worth a 3rd round pick? This is a guy who is only a year older than Gillies and put up 2.27 / 0.924 as a rookie in the AHL. It's not inconceivable for a set of pro scouts to see the value of a 3rd round pick in Rittich.

I dunno, the value in my proposal isn't that out to lunch either way IMO. Maybe the Rags would have no interest in Rittich, so a different prospect with roughly the same value could be subbed in his place.

Flames got a 2nd for Reto Berra so anything is possible.

I think one of Staal or Girardi are going to be bought out. This will change things I believe.

That 5 of the last post in this thread was by you, when you could have made it 1 post.

I'm responding to posts as I go along. Is that too much for you guys to handle ? Should I start writing down posts I want to respond to first on paper then collectively post them in one post just so your lives can be made worry free ? so you won't see so many posts ? read as much ? wow, get a life you two.

I don't mind, but you kinda asked what does that mean so I told you what it means, no need to be hostile tho.

I may go and comment on other threads, did you want to follow and monitor how many comments I make ? Or are you all tuckered out from policing, worrying about everyone else and how many posts in a row they do ?

No one is being hostile- I have been on this for years and that is the first time ever someone said something ridiculous like that to me before. It's super silly to me to think that I now have to bundle up my comments for the convenience of others- it's absurd and ridiculous.

You are being pretty hostile over what was a reasonable suggestion on how to improve your posting style. There is a multi quote button and an edit button that are very easy to use.

I've seen 3 or even 4 posts in a row a few times but you win the first ever 5 in a row.

I comment as I go through them, what's hard to understand about that. I'm not going to go through everything, make a catalogue, then post. It just seems overly obvious cause there isn't much action on the thread right now- plus, I hate to admit it, but I wasn't ever good at multi quoting anyways due to lack of knowledge. Even if I was good at it, I would still of probably did it the same way cause I got no idea as to what im going to comment on or not as I scroll through.

Couldn't have said it better. Brodie, the last guy to come out of the home grown system, came into his own and emerged as a legitimate top four half because he got enough of a shot in the NHL to realize his potential there. Didn't really spread his wings until a couple seasons in, but just like Kulak he showed signs of some good nhl tools very early on.

But you know, signing Grossmann then playing Wideman well past his best before date was definitely the way to go. Did a great job stalling Wotherspoon and now Kulak's development because they couldn't be Brodie within their first 20 games...

Actually Rittich is 4 years younger and has far less pro and NHL experience.

And I couldn't care less how many posts anyone makes in a row.

Was going to say this. The Flames are looking for a number one goalie, not a backup. Which means you use a guy who's been a number one already (MAF/Smith) or a backup who might be ready to make the move (Raanta/Grubauer/Pickard/Mrazek...) The Canes have done the latter with Darling.

Rittich has one period of NHL. Raanta has a healthy amount of starts for a backup in his last two seasons. Over a third of the games last season. Rittich has done fine in the AHL. But the NHL is littered with great AHL goalies who failed at the NHL.

Johnson has a healthy number of starts as a backup. Perhaps....no he doesn't have a good goalie name....Needs more vowels
