Give me either. Both have advantages and drawbacks.

Oilers (good): Flames should be motivated to avenge being swept in the regular season, Oilers have poor secondary scoring and below average defense.

Oilers (bad): officiating bias, deadly top line, lots of confidence after sweeping Flames in the regular season.

Ducks (good): injuries to D corp.

Ducks bad: ####ing Honda Center, lots of confidence, looking to avenge Gio's hit on Fowler.

I'd prefer the Oilers just on those points but a BoA would be incredible (and unbearable for which ever team loses).

Also, while not having home ice advantage can be seen as a disadvantage there is also less pressure to win a series as an underdog and the Flames had a decent road record.

No, that's not all you said. Something along the lines of -whine- "if they keep playing like this it won't matter who they play because it will be over quickly" -cry- -whine- pout-

That's the woe is me part.

lol how is that whining? If they keep playing the way they have been since the streak they will be out quickly.

Ill bet you 20 bucks that they dont win 3 games. Its not woe is me. Its this team is backing into the playoffs and they are up against two good opponents.

I'll bet you 20 bucks they don't win 3 games? If it means that much to you I'll bet you the money, but my point actually has nothing to do with whether your prediction is actually right or wrong. It's your pessimistic, cry baby outlook on the whole thing. You're a fan of I think the 2nd hottest team in the league post all star break (or something close to that) and all you can focus on is that they've been average in the last two weeks with a crazy hard schedule, and a bunch of meaningless games post clinching.

But if you don't see that, more power to you, keep on enjoying being a fan (if you actually do enjoy it). I just hope for your sake you take a more up beat approach to other more important things in your life.

6 wins out of 13. Thats backing into the playoffs.

Crazy hard schedule? You mean some games against the teams we will be playing in the playoffs?

Im pessimistic cause their heavy underdogs. Nothing to do with whining. But frame it however you want.

If you are going to post, please make sure the information is accurate. India has NEVER in any formats of Cricket lost to Pakistan in a World Cup game. Don't post for the sake of posting.

While I'm hopeful the Flames can find another gear, I'm certainly not bubbling with confidence right now.

Since the end of the 10 game win streak, the Flames have gone 6-7-0.

Against the two teams they are left with as their possible 1st round opponent, the Flames this year went 1-7-1 and were out scored 38 to 25. Although, we did play the oilers at our worst before the team had figured things out.

We haven't won a game in Anaheim since 2006, and they seem to find a way to beat us even when they don't play well.

Edmonton has McSourpuss and I don't trust the refs a lick with that putz out on the ice.

Anyways, TLDR, I'm hopeful but certainly not brimming with confidence.

Polak's ego and whining is so strong that I bet he fist bumps when and if Calgary is out of the playoffs just to stick it to the people.

Ugh. I guess...its bad either way but I guess Oilers.

Because I honestly am not sure this team can beat the Ducks but I'm relatively sure that when the playoffs start the Oilers will suffer from:

'what the hell is this we thought the season was over, we've never been this far before and where are we and what is going on' syndrome.

But the problem with this is that there is no winning.

If the Oilers win:

"McDavid is the greatest hockey player ever, Gretzky was garbage compared to him, and the Oilers are the greatest hockey team ever assembled! Long live McDavid and...I dont know, Maroon?!!"

If The Flames win:

"The superpowered Flames marginally overtook the fledgling Oilers in their first season of the playoffs by playing dirty and shooting Talbots kneecaps off in the parking lot! They're young and have a lot to learn but the Flames are going nowhere!"

Honestly, the media has sucked up to the Oilers so much for so long, and completely inexplicably, that they have to ride that horse no matter what. Its insane.

He literally has such a victim complex he just bet against the outcome he actually wants to occur (presumably), yet is falling to see why I said he's got a woe is me attitude.

I don't see this year's Flames winning the cup (hope to be wrong). Have to go through Anaheim Chicago and probably Pens/Caps - it would be epic if they got there.

In a dream scenario we would get Anaheim in the first round beat the curse of the Honda centre, get the Oilers in the second round and smack them around before playing the Hawks off to the Stanley Cup to play the Habs of course.

But since that is a bit of a dream, I would prefer to have the Oilers in the first round -regardless of how well we match up with them. I think that the buzz at the Dome would be of epic proportions.

Having said that, I would guess we are going to get the Ducks...

All this cause I said that if the team keeps playing like they do they will be out quickly.

Yeah I get so happy when the team I invest all this time and money into supporting loses. This is exactly why CP has the rep it has around calgary and hockey forums.

Ridiculous.

I think this Flames team is capable of beating both teams. They will also be playing with less pressure than either ANA or EDM which could bode well.

Come on Iggy give us one more huge performance
OTOH, the Kings hate the Ducks and would relish an opportunity to play spoiler and prevent them from being first.....especially in the Honda Center.

I won't speak for the mods, but I have seen posters banned for less around here. Just a heads up.
