It is even worse when you consider that Burrows has been getting the bulk of his shifts on the top-line for most of the season alongside the Canucks best offensive player Bo Horvat. 20 points for all that.

This is pretty damned surprising. Dahlen is a really high upside skill player, which the Canucks have very few of in their cupboard.

I'm not sure why you would trade a prospect that good for a washed up Alex Burrows.

Dangit. Was Hoping he'd get traded to an American team as I always root for the Canadian clubs no matter what

This is a good deal for the Canucks. Chances are good that they manage to ruin it somehow.
Well, yeah, but the Allsvensken is not the SHL. Hard to get a read on just how good this kid is given he's basically playing in the Swedish minor leagues. Though the reaction from Ottawa fans indicates strongly the Canucks did well.

Especially for an over the hill dbag.

Well it's great to see Dorion making senseless trades with one of our biggest rivals.

Even with Burrows, the Ottawa Senators are still very "meh" to me. Much like the City of Ottawa.
Meh.

The Sens better hope this trade doesn't come back to bite them in the butt.

Burrows isn't exactly washed up, he's still a very effective 3rd line player

I wouldnt have extended him, but as a rental he still had a lot of value

A little early to make that call.

Let's not get carried away. Dahlen looks like a good prospect but he is no where near as good as Forsberg.

Meh.
"Even with Burrows"???

Burrows is basically a plug who doesn't make an impact on any team but the Canucks, and that is only because they have the worst offensive depth in the NHL.

Yeah no. It's not that bad. That was obviously a ridiculous trade immediately. Forsberg was always a highly touted first round pick.

Why? So you would cheer for the Oilers too? Brutal. Not sure how you can cheer for your team's biggest rival (assuming you're a Flames fan).

Ottawa Senators @Senators
TRADE: The #Sens have acquired forward Alex Burrows from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Jonathan Dahlen.

Still he's a dime a dozen player in free agency. I can only assume they felt they needed an agitator.

Sens fans are also out raged at the fact that Ottawa traded a former 2nd round pick for a guy like Burrows.. haha.

he had interests from the Rangers, Montreal and Anaheim... so i wouldn't call him a plug.

It is...but at the time of the respective trades.

Forsberg: SWE-1 GP: 38 G: 15 P:33

Dahlen: SWE-1 GP: 43 G: 24 P: 41

So Dahlen is actually exceeding what Forsberg did in his draft + 1 season.

Also some other recent comparisons who played in the SWE-1.

Alexander Wennberg (in his draft season).

SWE-1 GP: 46 G: 14 P: 32

Andre Burakovsky (in his draft season).

SWE-1 GP: 43 G: 4 P: 11

Senators fans have the right to be pissed off about this one IMO.
