In what world is johny fast? Even if his foot speed was above average, he moves laterally so often...that gives iginla plenty of time to catch up. Silly argument by glencross

I've been actively looking for Iggy and have not noticed him once

Maybe I'm not attentive enough

In the NHL world.

Iggy overtaken from behind and stripped.

Well, this is not only wrong, but doesn't fully address the issue. Johnny isn't just a fast skater, he makes really quick decisions and can get off ridiculously fast passes.

Yes he can make that play. But having a guy fast enough for something else would be better.

Bennett always takes bad penalties. He needs to be smarter.

In my world, Gaudreau is fast and even more importantly....exceptionally quick.

I swear every home game i've watched this year Bennett has taken an offensive zone penalty

I think Johnny accelerates quickly. Turning doesn't slow him down much.
He might not have great top speed, but he's definitely shifty.

Ah, NHL refs.

Bennett gets cross-checked down -> no call.

Bennett gets up and cross-checks a player -> he gets a penalty.

nah not really outright fast...above average foot speed and incredible ability to execute at speed, but not outright fast. Further he doesn't really play a true north-south game once he gets into the offensive zone because of the fancy stick work and passing.

IN any event, Glencross spurned the organization pretty hard towards the end and even after his career ended. I doubt he has any inside information

Look at their roster Kelly, not hard to explain at all.

I love hockey but man I hate offside whistles. I've turned offsides off in every single hockey videogame ever. I'd be ok with the AHL trying out the complete removal of the blue lines.

How does anyone play with McDavid? Very quick players create space for their slower teammates. That is a normal thing.

Even on a 2 on 1 rush, one player usually lets up to create a pass lane.

I think that the NHL should make the bluelines two-and-a-half feet wide.

LOL. Glencross is still friends with Iggy, I'm betting, or knows people who are. And as for the organization, he is doing the broadcast. That says enough for me.

I'd bet Johnny is in the upper third of the league speed wise. He's no Larkin or McDavid but he's fast enough.

First two steps are everything.
On the last Av PP Iginla lost every single foot race.
One of NHL greats...in his twilight.
