I wonder if this means Ty Rattie is available or may get waived. Yakupov pushes him down the depth chart.

praying yak bounces back and scores 35 goals this year...

for an Echl'er and a 3rd round pick, it seems like a pretty solid role of the dice for St.Louis

Wouldn't it be great if on his return to Edmonton with the Blues he scored the GWG and followed it up with a 100 foot knee slide right through the Oilers logo?

I hope he scores 14 so the pick doesn't improve for the Oilers.

This appears to be an actual Yakupov quote from a Blues reporter:

Tom Timmermann @tomtimm
Yakupov: this is first time I've played on really, really good team. I think it's awesome, I don't know what winning is.

This is brilliant. They sacrificed so hard and so long and their payoff is being parted out for scraps.

Well done.

The best part is, I'm sure Chiarelli is doing his absolute best to shift blame to the guys that actually drafted these players.

It is truly 'cover your ass' time in Edmonton.

I hope he scores 14 goals, tones of assists, and passes to a teammate on an empty net 2-0 in the last game of the season.

Knowing Kevin Lowe, he has probably ordered Cam Talbot to allow Yakupov to score 15 goals when the Blues play the Oilers the 1st time this season.

What's the diff? 2nd and 3rd round picks don't improve the Oilers.

We don't want Arizona getting better when the Oilers ship out that second round pick for a broken stick.

I guess Lowe's translators had a tough time getting the words right.

That's the thing about 2012. Even if it's acknowledged that Yakupov was an awful pick, if you go back to that day who would you select instead? Ryan Murray I guess, but he hasn't been lights out amazing. Certainly would have been a million times better than Yakupov in retrospect but no slam dunk alternative selection there.
