Yes, I would have to agree. I don't see him heading there for an in person unless it was pretty much done.
Sidenote: Has a Flames player ever caused this much hand wringing in the past? Let's hope it's an 8 year deal so we don't have to fret about this kid for a long time.
Iginla. Pretty much Standard Operating Procedure.

And after the 8 years, he won't be a kid anymore. John Hockey will be ready to sign after winning 2 rings.
Sidenote: Has an undersized offensive Flames player ever scored 140pts in his first 160 games and become an RFA with no arbitration / offer sheet rights?
My point is that its impossible to compare this situation to any in the past. The agent and Johnny think he deserves more and dont want to factor in his lack of bargaining power / arbitration rights. But make no mistake he is worth more than 7-8m long term IF he wasnt an RFA in his current predicament. The sad bit for him is he's an RFA with no choice but to sign a reasonable contract or sit out the rest of his career.
I bet the Flames foresaw this whole scenario years ago. They put all this kind of stuff in their planning and projections. They knew they would be able to sit down with a player who has no choice more or less.

I love laughing but that show would make Will Farrell blush. Its insanely dry and awkward. I dont mind the big bang theory because there are occasionally some awesome nerdy jokes in there but its not that funny either. To me anyway.
If you don't like The Office but like TBBT you got problems son. Big problems.

similarly sad that Bennett and Tkachuk are not the 3rd and 4th highest paid forwards in this group and that Hamilton is making 1.1M more than Brodie

I was referring to the two years of anxiety wondering if he would sign with the Flames after college. The days after the frozen four ended wondering if he'd return to Boston College. Tracking the Flames jet to and from Calgary.
I was having some fun with the situation but it's hard to argue, this kid has caused some of the fan base a troubled night's sleep or two.

Like the fact that BT is flying down. Suspect that means a deal is only a good face-to-face away; possibly time for some cooling-down of the nonsense about JG being greedy etc to do with the family as well (not BT's doing, but good if he addresses it as if it were).
Face-to-face meetings are usually productive where telephone, email and other modes of communication fail to deliver the more subtle messages.
Was just in a meeting with one of the owners who acknowledged there has been significant progress over the last few days (but that was before I logged onto CP to see that BT is in New York).
