speaking of bat flips. It's common in Korea

Heh, so many things went right for the Jays in the bottom half of that 7th inning it was incredible.

Just routine plays kicked around, one after another. Even JD's bloop is likely caught a good amount of the time by Odor.

A much different lineup for the Rangers than what we got used to last year in the playoffs and even this season.

1. Gomez
2. Desmond
3. Beltran
4. Beltre
5. Odor
6. Lucroy
7. Moreland
8. Andrus
9. Choo

Notable missing from last year - Fielder, Deshields (still there but on the bench) Hamilton.

Edit: And no Mazara, anyone know if hurt?

He's not hurt, but I'm pretty sure that they've been using Gomez in left full time.

Holy crap. Roster announced and Deshields isn't even on the 25. Surprised they would leave that speed behind. He was an absolute thorn last year against us.

Hearing Harold Reynolds awful voice again watching those clips was like nails on a chalk board and almost made me sick to my stomach. I am so glad we dont have to hear him for any playoff games this year.

That is a great lineup, top to bottom.

In another slight surprise, Jays leave Pompey off their ALDS roster as well as Goins.

Happ and Sanchez added.

I would have guessed it would have been Goins and either Loup or Tepera that would have got the axe.

Yeah I was actually going to put a caveat in there for Beltre. Awesome third baseman, has the weird head touch thing, seems like a likeable guy, but he's still a Ranger at the moment so I have to cheer against him.

Ugh, and Feldman is still there too.

I'm not liking leaving Pompey off.

why in the hell even bother with Tepera? I still remember, quite vividly, him walking in the winning run with 4 straight balls to the same location, just the worst

Lots of OF on the Jays roster: Saunders, Pillar, Carrera, Bautista, Upton

Upton is now the bench speed with who can atleast be trusted to hit.

Pompey was pretty much superfluous at this point.

Also, I doubt Feldman and Tepera would be used unless there is a laugher like last year. put those guys in and rest the pen.

I would also have taken a Dickey/Thole combo over Feldman/Tepera.

Whatever bizarre reason you have to take Feldman, Dickey would accomplish the same but better.

I wish Pompey could be on there too but i'm not sure who you take out. I get the dislike for Loup/Tepera but I do think you need the arms back there if you either A) have a laugher or B) get into another extra inning game like you did against the Os. Both are very possible and I think you need to be more prepared for than that having Pompey. Upton gives you speed off the bench that you need.

I guess the only worry is the Knuckleball isn't as effective when the dome is closed? Thats maybe the one reason I can think of leaving him off the roster.

I also just read it's likely due to the concern with Osuna.

Ok, that I can accept.

I think the bigger issue with bringing Dickey out of the bullpen is the fact you have to sub in Thole as well. So you'd be loosing Martin's bat or even Navarro's bat for the remainder of the game. Not to mention Thole eating up a roster spot.

Why? Only one reason to bring in Dickey out of the pen... you got blown out in inning 1-4 and want to save the bullpen. I think Navarro can handle catching a knuckleball for some crap innings in an already decided game.

The extra pitchers are needed for throwing at Odor. You don't want a good pitcher to get ejected.
