Why wouldn't we want a dedicated person doing them? Makes no sense to let anyone start them if they aren't going to put in the effort.

For some players like Gaudreau or Brodie, their non-goal highlights are the most impressive parts about their game IMO.

The way I see it, there are a lot of options if someone wants to see a 1-2 minute video of a player's top goals out there, including from the Flames themselves. But I don't think anybody else tries to encapsulate a player's entire season the same way.

I guess I'm in the small fraction but I appreciate the depth you go to, and completely agree on the bit about highlight plays that don't necessarily end up as goals. I'm subbed

Everything here makes the place so much better, and I fail to see any reason to remove or tone down any content from this site. I'm willing to do as many GDTs as I can if people want to read detailed previews of every game.

HD used to post them every gameday early in the morning without missing a day. He just natually became the GDT guy. If he was going to be busy, he said so in the prior GDT and someone else would post one when the day came

CaliFlamesFan can do the same. If he's going to do a write up, he can post it. If CaliPanthersFan is busy or not in the mood, then someone can start one as soon as they feel like talking about the game. If someone beats FloridaFlamesFan to it when he was planning on starting one, he can post his write up in the thread

Scoprion or whoever feels like it should also make write ups, it doesn't have to be the OP. What's great about them, or Bingos summary, or whatever else people share around here is they do it cause they enjoy it. No one should feel pressured to be the guy
