Phil Kessel: He was working out last off-season prior to joining the Penguins with Gary Roberts. The best info I can find was that he was down 13 lbs but details were hard to come by. His weight and fitness have always been controversial when he was a Leaf so I think he didn't want to anger anybody with any specific confirmation.

At the end of the day every player plays the game at the stage they think best serves them. NHL players are generally very fit and some players are just genetic freaks in terms of the time they can play. Everybody is different.
