Yeah, but she's against with a third row. I'm not sure why.

Have you looked at a Honda Pilot?
A mid 2000 4-Runner with 200 000 km? That's just at half life. My old truck which I sold at 300 000+ KM is still going strong 7 years later, over 450 000 km on it now.

I had a 94 4-Runner with over 425 000 km and the thing ran like a dream.

We are not talking about Fords or Dodges here.

I grow tired of the Japanese vs North American argument. It depends all on how the previous owner looked after their vehicle and price. We aren't talking new here.

If you're buying a used vehicle, you're always taking a chance. I'd bet you're the kind of person that takes care of your vehicles and gets proper maintenance done. Sadly, most people aren't like you.

To the OP something to consider, When I decide between vehicles in the 10k range is timing belt vs timing chain. Spending an extra thousand or more after buying a used vehicle isn't fun.

Well sure, that's why you do your homework, have someone you trust have a look or if you don't have a guy take it to a few places. To but something without checking it out first is well, stupid. To say you'll be buying another vehicle in year because it all ready has 200 000 km is well, stupid.

And I will say through the 80's up until maybe 5-10 years ago there was a pretty big difference in quality between the Japanese and NA.

More the the question, I am liking the Mazda CX 5 right now over the Ravs and Rogues of the world. We are looking new though so not much help there. We are looking to downsize from a minivan as we just don't need the space anymore. Something a little smaller and more fuel efficient than a big 7 year old van.

Have you looked at a Toyota Venza or a Mazda CX-7? They seem to both be in your wheelhouse.
