Saw this quote and assumed he was talking about the Flames rankings. Guess i misinterpreted it.

Three weeks ago, 17 year old Patrik Laine wasn't the best player in the entire Finnish league playoffs...

Prediction:
oilers pick first... because obviously.
Flames pick second.
oilers pick busts (because obviously), and the Flames pick exceeds expectations and terrorizes the dirty oilers for a decade, becoming the overwhelming consensus 1OA in all hindsight re-drafts.
Daigle/Pronger style.

When this happens, I'll go on a all out celebration

Ideally I'm praying for a top 3 slot. But realistically, I am expecting to be somewhat disappointed as we draft 7th. One the other hand, I'm fully expecting it to be a blessing down the road, as we find out our pick ends up being one of the top guys.
Monahan at 6th worked out pretty well for us and he's in the legit conversation as the best player from his draft year. I'm fully expecting that our pick this year will be the same result.

I predict:
1) Columbus
2) Vancouver
3) Ottawa
Flames draft 6th and take Sergachev.

Would be astounded if we got in the top 3. The script would have to be completely re-written for that to happen.
Honestly, I expect the Oilers to win 1st place again. Same script.

If we had the #1 pick and Arizona had #2, I would ask for the following:
Yotes trade: #2 pick + OEL
Flames trade: #1 pick + Giordano

Hopefully the NHL rigs this and ensures Oilers don't get the 1st

Matthews finished 10th in scoring in the Swiss league despite missing 14 games, and also finished second in MVP voting. Swiss league also has a higher NHLE for anyone wondering

Expecting the worst, hoping for the best, but for some reason i have a good feeling we get lucky today with 1 of the 3 spots.
30 years ago today the Flames beat the Oilers in the infamous Game 7, maybe today they beat the Oilers in the lottery.
Also based on my #brokenclockNHLyear theory, the Oilers will NOT win the lottery! Here's hoping.

As mentioned that would mean Toronto, Edmonton, and Vancouver all draft out of the top 3. Glass half full right?

Dear hockey gods, please be nice today and give the lottery picks to teams who didn't embrace the tank.
