Gaudreau Monahan UFA (Okposo/Eriksson)
Ferland Backlund Frolik
Bouma Bennett Colborne
Grant Stajan Hathaway
Jooris

Brodie Hamilton
Giordano Engelland
Jokipakka Wideman
Nakladal

UFA (Reimer?)
Ortio

I can't see anything more dramatic than this happening. We need a damned good goalie and a decent top line RWer. It ain't gonna be cheap...

Green are new contracts. Blue are contracts that have bonuses (not included) and red is Raymond's overage.

That's 75M with Eriksson, a 30-33-63 defensively responsible 30 year old winger signing an AAV of 5M and Gaudreau and Monahan combining for 13M...
If only we could unload a Wideman or Stajan...

I think Eriksson would be the perfect fit for the top line RW.

How exactly would we acquire Nichushkin and considering Dubois is still 17 untill the week before the draft isnt there a good chance we'd give him another year of Juniors?

I don't think anyone is resistant to changing the goalie situation. But some people like making reasonable line-ups. I highly doubt the Flames are going to add Carey Price or Johnny Quick to their line-ups, but if there was a chance, you bet it would be posted in every line combination in this thread.

In all likelihood - given the cap situation, free agency and trade options - the Flames will be coming two camp with familiar faces fighting for the starter role

I liked your thinking until I got to the part where you signed Perron for 5 years and then I fell over

Colborne and Poirier to Tampa Bay for Ben Bishop?

In what world would Tampa do that?

0 chance of either happening.

Hayes isn't quite untouchable, but you're not getting him for Wideman.

Elliott is one of the league's leading goalies in terms of stats - AND he's on a sweetheart contract.

The Hayes bros are overrated.

They're like the Niedermayers. If both Niedermayers were Rob.

Stempniak is fine but would prefer not to bring him back. Doesn't fit our bigger/better/younger model.

Hate to break it to you but that is market value and you won't get a top 6 forward without offering 5+ years. I'd love to know how Frolik is worth 4.3x5 and Perron not 4.25x5? Frolik is better defensively but Perron is more physical and on average they are fairly similar offensively. It's not half as bad as you and others are making it out to be.
