Fluery did the same thing when Martin St. Louis arrived.

IIRC the article was about St Louis playing in the NHL and having two short guys on the roster. Fluery made sure to mention he was taller when he stood on his wallet. What an idiot.

The thing that rubs me about Fleury, was when he was less than gracious when Iggy broke his record.
He was so bitter.

I usually never hold it against a player if they choose money over winning because some of these guys need to earn as much as they can so they can retire comfortably. But Iginla has made so much money that I kind of lost a bit of respect for him when he signed that deal.

Loved the article. Really enjoyed it.

As for Theo - those who are saying that Theo has to get over it, need to get over it. That's Fleury. Always been like that - won't change. We loved him for what he did as a Flame, bumps and warts and all.

Yeah but you have to remember that at the time he signed it Colorado were a team on the upswing. They just won the central division title with a young core of Duchene, O'Reilly and Mackinnon who won the Calder as well as Vezina-nominated Varlamov. It was not far fetched to think the Colorado would be a contending team over Iggy's tenure. Of course it hasn't worked out that way, but I can't blame Iggy for signing a longer term deal with what looked at the time to be a young team on the verge of contending.

Does this change the outcome of assessment of an Iginla for Wideman swap?

Me too, saw a lot of Theo talk, so I just googled some Johnny highlights

Probably posted here before but is 2:25 is the same play as the first play of the video he pulls in BC. Pretty cool considering the questions before he graduated of how what he does will transfer to NHL.

Fleury should just shut his trap, crap like this is why he's not in the rafters and if he keeps this stuff up Burke will give the next young player #14.

While we're piling on poor Theo, anyone remember him doing color commentary on the Flames PPV? Yikes.

Never been a huge Theo fan myself. The one time I met him in like 97 or so, he pulled up in his red Viper in front of a furniture store I was working at, I just happened to be standing in the parking lot. When the car pulled up, I was actually more interested in looking at the car, didn't even realize who was driving it at first because he was wearing sunglasses. I just kinda walked up and was looking at the car, and when I noticed it was him driving it I said "Oh hey, Theo Fleury... nice car man!" His response was to do that "Go away" hand sweeping motion without saying a word. Felt real good as a 22 year old STH at the time that was dedicating 25% of my income to buy tickets. I wasn't impressed.

Dude is so full of himself.

Theo is an ####### he just is. Was a great player and I loved watching him play...guy was my hero as a youngster and those memories will stick with me forever. If you have ever dealt with the guy IRL though (I dont mean an autograph signing or some quick selfie) he is a real jerk. Guy yells at team mates in charity games where him on your team is the prize ffs.
