Both were excellent in the age they played in.

Vernon won multiple cups and the Conn Smythe too, was also a perennial 30-game winner before the introduction of 4 on 4 and shootouts. He also happened to be my goaltending idol.

Kipper won the Vezina once and was a workhorse every year.

Both are easily the two best this franchise has ever seen.

Well, Backstrom looks calmer and more composed than any Flames goalie at any time this year. Either he's actually still good or we had the absolute worst set of goalies any franchise has ever seen this year.
