I don't see SkyDome lending itself well to the game. As such, I'd probably take a nearly frozen pitch over an awkward venue.

As they couldn't even support their A-League team but were gifted an MLS franchise, I don't have much sympathy. I'd prefer to see one of the former A-League clubs be the first Canadian team to win the league.

I've been following the team pretty closely for 6 years, and everything they have ever touched has turned to a turd.
This year has been incredible. Steal the Canadian Championship in the dying seconds, and this conference final should have been dead so many times given the clubs usual mentality in tough situations.
3-0 down in game 1? Should have been cooked.
Give up the early goal at home to go down 4-2 on aggregate? Old TFC folds like a house of cards.
Give up the go ahead goal in the second half to make it 5-4 on aggregate after coming back to put yourself in a position to win? Should have been an implosion.
Giovinco gets injured when you need to either score a goal or survive penalty kicks? Panic should have set in.
That was the most incredible part. Giovinco, besides his two corners these games, was not only contained by Montreal, he saved his 2 worst career free kicks for these games. The team won in spite of their star player being ice cold.
I've traveled to Portland, LA, Montreal and Toronto to see this team play and never even seen them score a goal in person. They've killed me inside so many times, which has made this so much sweeter. It feels very '04 esque. All the years of disappointment washed away, and being in a final and just being happy to be there.
I was selfishly hoping for Colorado to advance as that may have made it possible for me to attend, but that crowd was amazing and will help them on Dec 10.

I think the Impact(and the Alouettes) are disadvantaged when they move into the Big Owe. It's foreign to them too. So going into the Skydome, even if they could, would be a bad idea.
Soccer is an outdoor sport.. rain and cold shouldn't be a problem as was proven last night.

Have a feeling there are many TFC supporters who are envious that you were able to get tickets. Should be a hell of a game! I still think Seattle takes it, they've been on a hell of a run since they promoted Schmetzer and brought in Lodeiro, but the home field advantage may prove otherwise.
TFC fans have to be loving this stability and winning, and considering what a #### show the NASL / USL has been over the last year, even just having a stable club year over year is a good thing.

The ticket sale was a fiasco and season ticket holders and general fans have a right to be pissed. Season ticket holders were moved all over the stadium and then to see their seats as part of a block of ten for sale on stubhub for 10 times face value is an insult. There were essentially no public seats available and the resale values are pure insanity. I sat in the same seats for NY ($70) and Montreal ($130) and they went for $500 for the final. All that aside, I don't think it'll dampen things at all and BMO will be loud and wild all night. Here's hoping to a fun frosty night that ends with a Cup!

I'm nervous for this one. TFC has every reason to be satisfied with beating MTL. No matter what, their season was a success. Maybe that takes some pressure off, but I worry that they won't have the same hunger after that. Because it is a one game final, there is no time to start slow, and I worry that will kill them.

Why do soccer tournaments (MLS playoffs, Champions League) feature a home and away leg all the way through, but the final is always one game?

In Europe, having a single match final at a neutral venue adds to the spectacle but is also feasible for travelling fans. In North America, I think holding a single game final at a neutral venue isn't practical for travelling fans and having a single match at one of the competitor's ground isn't particularly fair. Personally, I'd prefer a two-leg final over the winner-takes-all spectacle.

Yeah, I think at this point its a bit of a holdover from when MLS Cup was a neutral site game. I agree, now that it isn't, they should make it a 2 leg final.
Especially in a league where home advantage is huge, and conference parity isn't always.
Seattle may have been seeded higher than TFC if they were in the East, but they were in the West, so now the road team.
Seems too arbitrary.

1. Actually rewarding the higher seed with hosting so the regular season isn't meaningless
2. Extending the playoffs by another week could be challenging with the weather.

Would anyone be watching this championship overseas or is MLS nothing to real soccer countries?

So I don't know much about MLS but in the 15 minutes or so that I caught at the end of the half it seemed like Seattle barely even touched the ball. Is Toronto heavily favoured in this?
