Didn't get to watch the game so can't comment on how the team looked, but wow, this is quite a horrendous run they're on.

A man can dream. Even if Backstrom is somehow worse, at least he'll try

Any chance the Flames could lure Paul MacLean away from the Ducks? Assistant coach there and (I think) only on a one year contract.

At this stage, what's the point? Just send his sorry behind home.

There's no rush to replace any coaches right now. Change for the sake of it rarely works.

The market for coaches right now isn't so great anyway.

Maybe Hartley and Treliving aren't getting along, and Hartley is revolting by playing Hiller. Or Hartley is tanking because management is telling him to do so. My bet is on the first scenario.

Simply an excellent use of this gif, great work.

You know the reffing is bad when even good ol' Kelly Hrudey is perplexed. Seriously wow, I'm not into conspiracy theories but wtf

Wouldn't say underachievment. I can't see this roster getting to 5th in the conference like the 92/93 team did. Plus, not a lot of roster changes, wheras this team needs them.

Just goes to show how special last year was, and, how important making the playoffs was last year to the organization. IF they would've missed out by a point or two last year, and then had this season, there'd be a lot more questions about everything from coaching to JG and SM long term etc etc.

I'd agree that change for the sake of change is bad. Don't go firing him and bringing up Huska or anything.

The idea of Hitchcock makes me kind of excited though. He's a very good coach

That's a good reason to turn down a good coach.

I think there is about zero chance it is Bob and Brad not seeing eye to eye. There has been zero indication of that.

Hiller sucks

Game was okay

Refs hate the Flames and the NHL is a joke for allowing them to punish a team like this...when the broadcast crew is calling a spade a spade on national TV you know something is up

I prefer to think the NHL is trying their hardest to get the Flames a great draft pick rather than a conspiracy of punishment.

It's just so weird for Hartley to start Hiller. Maybe it is old school royalty, but it is career suicide at this point. I guess that's one way to show that you have the player's back. But then that's going against the "always earned" motto.
