Have to think the Hawks chances for another Cup has greatly increased with this trade.

Team captain, Jarome Iginla was played his last home game as a Flames 3 days before being traded. Scored that game. Scratched hours before an away game vs a western conference team. He was traded only a couple days before the trade deadline.

Team captain, Andrew Ladd played his last home game as a Jet 2 days before being traded. Scored that game. Scratched hours before an away game vs a western conference team. He was traded only a couple days before the trade deadline.

No. Not unless Chicago retained to make it cap neutral.

Bit of a win/win. Like it for both sides. Must be nice to be a Blackhawks fan these days.

Well, there's a reason he's not employed in a hockey operations role in the NHL anymore.

Hope we spoil that pick.

Pressure is now on the rest of the west to keep up with the Joneses (Chicago.) This may increase the pressure on them to add depth.

It's a perfect storm combined with a sellers market. We should get great value on at least 2 of our guys.

Iggy was turning 36

Was considered declining. People did not forsee him being as productive as he turned out to be for a couple years afterwards.

Doesn't excuse the poor return. Feaster failed at the Iginla trade and was mediocre or failed on the Bouwmeester trade. Both would have returned more if shopped by a more competent GM. It was actually that trade deadline that completely soured me on Feaster and made me question his ability to manage. I was super disappointed in the Iginla return, it did not stack up to the value similar players had when moved on previous deadlines.

Good deal for both teams. I've liked Ladd every since he was on the Hitmen. You'd have to think that bringing back a former player is an ideal situation for Chicago. He knows the system. He knows the coach. He know a lot of the players.

Hopefully this deal, plus the return puts pressure on teams like Dallas, St. Louis , etc... to overpay for some of our assets.

Going to be a very late 1st round pick. But still a good return for the Jets, can't complain about it.

If there a team that has a better prospect pool than the Jets?

Nice now, sure, but some of us old SOBs had some lean years, with our team!

Feaster was not good at getting full value in trades.

ARI has a considerably better pool IMO.

5 of the top 50 prospects according to Button including 2 of the top 3. Plus Domi and Duclair on the team. They may add to that by dealing Boedker.

Not to mention that I doubt anyone would be shocked if the Yotes ended up with a high pick in this years draft either. Top 5 isn't out of reach for them.
