Not that I love commercials, but this'll be annoying if it's every game.
This is how MLBtv is, so chances are if they designed it this is how it will always be now

^ That's annoying.

Wear else is annoying is an error saying that my account information could not be sent and the feed ending. The SN feed is now a rolling for saying 'the game will begin shortly' so having to search the Carolina feed.

Super!

I'm just shocked that the people in charge of mlb.tv rolled something out and it went poorly. Shocked I tell you.

I've had mlb.tv for years but they are awful about testing stuff before releasing it.

Can anyone comment on how the frame rate looks. I haven't tried it in over a year, but every time I have, the framerate was just too jerky to be enjoyable on a large tv. Is there any reason to think this has improved?

This year (even before the update) it's been pretty good for me. To the point where people watching are surprised when they find out it's streamed

First time using the new video system, it seems awful so far. It stops video (sound continues) when I go full screen. Navigating to goals is painful using the scroll bar. The points they have marked for goals, start right after the goal is scored, if I try to rewind 10 seconds, it takes me to the live feed, so frustrating.

Another point of frustration for me (as someone who likes to start the games late and skip through commercials/intermissions), when it's not on full-screen the live game score is right below the video feed, and I can't figure out how to turn it off

Well, I don't know if they made any changes between last night and tonight, but I found it much better today. Video feed was excellent on the laptop and I do quite like the app on my iPad. Lots more stats available.

Yeah, its not great that they roll out a new system right before the season starts up again(why not do it on Thursday and then test it over the ASG weekend?), but once they've gotten the kinks sorted out, I think this new format will be a big improvement over the old one.

I had the same problem.
I clicked on 'Help' and then on 'Watch' > Watch/Listen in the bar on top of the screen.
https://www.nhl.com/info/nhltv-support

Overall I'm very happy with the changes.
Started watching the game vs. Carolina (less than a hour after it ended) on my PS4, watched the 2nd period on my phone (iPhone) on my way to work, and the 3rd period on my desktop at work.

Besides the login problem it all worked smooth and I didn't had to go through all kind of creative ways to hide the score/result of the game. (which was a problem on (i)Phone)
I absolutely love the quality of the stream.

I had it working for a bit last night - The quality of the video is excellent, sound is improved as well. I really think the issues people are having is due to the location tracking, it's obsessive about knowing where you are.

I had the same problem, couldn't chrome cast at all and when it was on my phone it was terribly pixelated. Worked on my main computer, but didn't feel like watching it in my office all evening.

Yeah, I ended up just getting the Carolina feed to work and left it. Thankfully, their PBP and colour guy are pretty good!

Okay total rookie question, but I'm looking to get rid of my cable altogether and go purely with streaming and subscription based content. But I need my Flames games. I'm in the SNW region, so does this mean all of NHL.tv's Flames games would be blacked out? If I tried to watching the opponent teams feeds could I get those? Also, Gamecenter was an AppleTV app, will NHL.tv also be watchable on AppleTV?

You will need a 'workaround' to hide where you're from, as there will be enough blacked out games in your area to drive you crazy.

When the game is blacked out, it also blacks out the other feed. The game itself is blacked out for you, not just the feed.

So factor in an extra $5/mo for a 'workaround' and you're set.

I've had streaming issues with Android to Chromecast, but definitely not that issue (yet).
