When all of these teams had played 52 games, this is their number of points:

Nash 56
Col 57
Min 55
Ari 54
Van 52
Cgy 51

It's worth noting that Colorado has only managed 1 point in it's last 4 games and now has 58 pts in 56 games. If we were to do the opposite (7pts in next 4 games) we would tie them and likely be within a point or two of everyone else (except Nashville) through 56 games.

It's amazing how much Anaheim has closed the gap on LA. San Jose as well for that matter. Pacific not looking so poor anymore.

I don't want to be that guy but some around here are being very unrealistic. Some still think the playoffs are a realistic thing and how bad the oilers are. Don't get me wrong, the oilers are terribad and never seem to improve BT the flames are only 3 points ahead of them. The flames aren't making the playoffs so part of me wants to beat the oilers at their own game this year.

It's amazing that the Flames and Ducks were tied in the standings not too long ago.

Which goes to show that a terrible start doesn't mean a team is done. Calgary's start didn't scuttle the season; it just put them in a bad spot that their inconsistent play made it impossible to get out of.
