He's a bottom 6 at best. Jooris is better I in every area IMO
But.... I didn't say any of those things.

I didn't say you did. I was expanding on my assessment.

You keep saying he's a good possession player, despite no evidence, eyeball or otherwise

Looks like Gaudreau, Bennett & Jooris enjoy watching The Bachelor: https://twitter.com/johngaudreau03/s...16394720743424

Anyone who thinks any argument one can make for any of the players in question to take the spot along side Johnny or Monahan on the top line vs. the other options available being a strong one is kidding themselves. Hartley is literally picking between a bunch of 3rd liners at best who each bring slightly different things to the table and each inconsistently show flashes of ability to be top 6. There is no strong argument for Jooris over Colborne or Jones or Raymond or whoever. With those guys it really comes down to the day and the coach playing his hunch. The only other 2 legit top 6 players we have, Hudler and Frolik are hurt(and Hudler hasn't really earned that lable this year.). So Hartley has to play mix and match, and he's also trying to ice multiple lines that might score, it's not simply play 1-3 with each other.

All this debate over which of the less than ideal options Hartley chooses to play with Johnny and Monahan is so pointless. On any given night the right choice could be anyone of his options, but there is no "right" choice, just a bunch of less than perfect solutions.

Unfortunately, it should be Mason on the 1st line as he has the most experience...

Gaudreau – Monahan - Raymond
Bennett – Granlund - Colborne
Ferland – Backlund - Jones
Bouma – Stajan – Jooris

I don't like the idea of a fill-in. The spot must remain open, and obviously so.

My plan for the offseason, if I were Treliving, would be to pay a few thousand dollars for a full page New York Times want ad:

Help Wanted. Highly talented right winger to play with Johnnie Gaudreau and Sean Monahan. Must have Stanley Cup aspirations. Salary negotiable.

Every pending and restricted free agent would apply.

Colborne is the new David Moss.

Big, but isn't overly physical.

Shows flashes of being a hell of a player, then goes ice cold for 20 games. Is not a long term or interim answer for the top line. Best to promote him on the games when he is skating hard.

Should not be paid more than what a 10th forward will get. At times it will be a great contract, at other times he's eating popcorn.

But the bottom line is that, like Moss, we are getting more than we expected when we acquired/picked him.

That's an insult to David Moss to be honest. Miss actually went to the net and didn't mind taking a beating there.

Also Moss scored 20 goals and 17 goals in seperate seasons.

Colborne has 24 career goals. The way things are going Colborne will be out of the NHL in the next 3 years.

Oh come on, it's hardly an insult to David Moss. His 20 goal season didn't come until he was 27, and his 17 goal season was at 29. I'd be surprised if Colborne doesn't have a 20 goal season himself at some point. Besides those two outlier seasons Moss was a 20 pt player.

Huselius - Langkow - Moss

That was a potent 2nd line when Moss first came up. I remember they clicked quite well together.
