Lowry definitely shortening his D bench. I dont fully get it as I think Hicketts has had a rather poor game so far.

Canada seems to play like they think they're better than they are. They need to play a more simple game, the swedes are just dismantling their plays.

Gaudreau-Bennett-Nylander would be a dream come true. Even Laine and Puljujarvi would be very good with those two.

I enjoy watching Holmstrom get rocked. Theres something therapeutic about it.

Virtanen is one of the worst players on the ice. Gives the puck away all the time and makes poor decisions. What made him a first round pick wow

The hype is getting to their heads. They seem to play like they think they don't have to try. Stupid passes. Needless dekes. Just bad.

You're not NHL players yet (play like this and you will never be one). Get that out of your head and play smart.

From Lowry not knowing or using his players too well and homering out on three players to not getting them to play basic fundamental hockey, I just don't think this team was built properly from the onset.

Thats what made Brent Sutter so good for WJC, simple, fundamental hockey with all world talent.

The PK needs some serious work. They are just getting exposed today.

I'm still baffled that the ref actually made up that call on an assumption. Terrible.

Virtanen just looks like he'd rather be somewhere else.

Has to hurt the ego when you're cut from your NHL team to attend this while the other 19-year-old is elevated to first line center on said NHL team for a short spell.

I had no idea you were allowed to just push your net off before the other team scores. The Flames should add that to their bag of tricks.

It's also news to me that you can get a powerplay by breaking your own stick. I'm learning a lot watching this game.

Finland v. Canada will be an interesting matchup come Saturday. Canada has not looked very good in this tournament but Finland is having some serious issues as well. Pu-La-Aho (Laine-Aho-Puljujärvi) is having a feast, but the PK, goaltending and the narrowness of the D are a concern. The hosts are having high-scoring games at least and the crowd is kept entertained. Will be interesting to see how Saturday rounds out. Puljujärvi is having monster points but as a draft pick I would still prefer Laine.

Going to see the semis live. Sad that it seems like either Finland or Canada will be out by then.

Happy New Year to y'all.
Let's beat the Kings tonight!
