About as well as you can in a blowout game.

Is Mitch Marner playing? I don't think I've heard his name yet.

He's scored. Had many scoring chances. Over all, has had a decent day.

What a save for the Danish goalie. He's actually been incredible this game despite the score.

I don't recall the rankings going into the draft, but watching them so far in this tournament, there is absolutely no doubt that I would rather have Strome than Marner.
On another note, I don't like the makeup of this team - son't see them winning gold.

52 saves on 58 shots for the Danish goalie today if I heard correctly.

I see the Team Canada players have revived the tradition of not singing the national anthem after a win, until the gold medal is in hand!

Duthie just said that if Canada, USA and Sweden all win their remaining games, then Canada would need to beat Sweden by three goals on New Years Eve to take first overall. Not an easy task.

The World Juniors needs to eliminate these weak relegation teams. Go down to 6 or 8 teams. Watching Canada pummel these weaker teams isn't entertaining.

How has Konecny looked?
Chaps my ass that the Leafs traded that pick to the Flyers, who then took Konecny. I think he's going to be a real stud at the NHL level.
Yeah I like the Leafs, big woop ya wanna fight about it.

Konecny has been solid. Drive a lot of the play for his line. Needs a finisher for his playmaking I think. Which would help him score more goals too. as teams will cover the shooter giving him more room in front of the net.
Not sure what is up with Stephens but he's been a ghost so far (centers Konecny and Crouse). And Crouse doesn't have the quick finish. Konecny is good.

The problem though is that goaltenders that stop everything they're supposed to stop are a dime a dozen. We need a goalie that can outperform - that can stop the ones that aren't even his fault.
In my opinion, the tip by Point was marginal, and a star goaltender should be able to fight and keep that one out regardless of his own teammate's mistake. That's how you build confidence for your team, and for yourself.
Unfortunately, I don't see MacDonald being that type of goaltender.

If the Flames pick lower than 15 this year, I really really liked Yegor korshkovs game today. Big like Dergachyov but has some slick skill like Malkin. Not saying he is Malkin, just has a similar frame and skating style. Made a sweet power spin move today to cut in front of the Finnish net for a really good scoring chance.

Why would you judge a goalie based on a few random games on an international ice surface? Goalie prospects is a long game. McDonald obviously has a few fans based on being on this team and his draft selection. His stats on an awful team in the QMJHL mean very little as well.
I'm typically the guy who's pessimistic on Flames prospects vs the board consensus - but I don't see any reason to write McDonald off yet.

I don't disagree. I think McDonald has been very solid, but he hasn't been stellar by any means. He also hasn't "sucked" either like many have suggestd (not you or this forum specifically its just the general "social media" consensus it seems)
