Obviously he didn't have a big negative impact either, so I guess that's a positive.
Granlund was 50% in the dot tonight which was 2nd on the team behind Backlund. Stajan was 9%. (ouch)

One things that jumps out at my watching every game is continually hearing "shot wide"..."shoots it high"...especially wide-man. These guys seemingly can't hit the damn net. Of course that's just one of the many problems this year but it's certainly frustrating as hell.

When was the last time the Flames were in the top third of the league in special teams? Honest question.

He created more than Backlund with his 6 minutes of ice time.

I have pointed this out numerous times throughout this season and believe it to be much bigger of an issue than it may seem.
We had a ton of points from our D last year. I honestly believe any shot 2 feet off the ground that hits the net coming in from the point is a legitimate scoring chance. Whether it is tipped, screened on the way in or leads to a rebound, almost always it puts you on the edge of your seat.
This year has been a bunch of Phaneuf shots (to his credit, it is obvious Babcock changed this as he now takes some power off and keeps them low).
Guys are also trying to do too much on the point this year. I can vividly remember guys getting the puck on the point and wasting no time letting a quick snapper go. This year it seems that guys want to walk the line and wait for the perfect shot which simply allows the other team to collapse and block the shot.

Then we have the flames PP. Objective A,B & C is feed the point for a shot. Then the shot is either going to miss the net and lead to a quick dump down OR there is nobody in front of the net and the goalie picks it out of the air for the easiest save of the night.

Thought Ramo played well last night. He technically got the shutout in regulation.

Nothing to get too worked up about in this loss. They pushed it to OT. Special teams are suffering yes, but it didn't bite them in the arse too hard.

Ramo made the saves he was supposed to. That one goal wasn't a disaster from any perspective, just some puck luck for ARZ. Although Ramo did fly into orbit over playing the bad angle shot. But, not going to light a torch for it.

Other than the Flames total lack of whatever they had going last yer aside, it doesn't help that the teams that regressed a bit last season like ARZ, Dallas, SJ are all having much better seasons. Pacific points aren't that easy to grab this year.
