In the news and such we hear about the "gay community". I realize there's no physical community, but does an informal network exist, or a kind of clique?
|
I mean there are websites, stores, coffe shops, hangouts etc and organizations, but is there an offical community? Only due to the fact there is a symbol and some advocacy/rights groups, but as anythign they only represent the views of those involved.

What does that mean?
Umpire??
I have a question. What's with the lisp? Where does that come from? My buddy came out, and about a week later developed one. I've never worked up the nerve to ask him....
Are you really that good at fashion picks and faux pas? Are your gay friends? Is it a fact most gay guys are or is it just a stereotype? [/b][/quote]
1. Don't ask don't tell :P
2. I've never figured that out, I've seen so many people go femmy when they come out. i knew one guy who, upon telling everyone, basically "blossomed" for lack of a better term..I don't know if they are holdign it in, or they feel suddenly that they have to be or what...it sorta freaks me out cause then you never know which was the real person...maybe that's one thing having known my gayness since I was so young that I just never changed how i acted.
2. I have great fashion sense for everyone else but me...it's sorta funny because being the quasi skater kid that I am I go for a baggy, comfy look, not a trendy look. Two of my gay freinds are total fashionistas and get on my nerves since two of them sorta half jokingly in that catty way have said i'm gonna give them a bad name by my way of dressing. I mean one guy I know really couldn't stop critizing every piece of clothing i had, right from my belt to my shoes, so i just told him off and ended the freindship. It's a stereotype, because gay guys do come in all shapes and sizes, it's ones like me that aren't into fashion you prolly would never notice unless you looked hard for my rainbow necklace!

Isn't Tron a fellow Okotokian? Then that makes the choice easy...of course I'm happily spoken for so all of this is pure speculation. (just in case the bf peruses this site)

Hey MRCboicgy, I think you're gonna be my fashion consultant from now on lol. That was a great recommendation.
Also, I may be chinese, but I have darker skin than most asians. I am often mistaken for being philipino or thai. Are brighter colors better for my wardrobe (like white, yellow..etc.) I'm trying to mix it up a bit.

start with "Hi!"
Then be honest "like, wow you have a great smile" or other feature (not their rack!) and show humility. Girls always complain to me that guys think with the wrong head and treat them like objects and try to come off like they are god's gift to whatever (str8 or gay guys are the same) be nice, polite and humble.

Yah it works, i mean the worst look for asians is a monochrome one in my opinion. Just make sure it has a noticable contrast. you don't have to wear a day glo orange shirt (this isn't 1991), but if you find something you like that has brighter colours you can pull it off, whereas I, with my WASPy looks sticks with anything but bright. Dude I bet you can do pink stripes (or even a pink shirt if you wanna go that far) if you don't have an issue with that.

Ah cool. No, I don't have issue with Pink...but a lot of my female friends are telling me Pink is going out. So I was kinda holding off on getting pink.

Does the fact that you will not be able to procreate bother you? If so, please let me know and you can come and babysit my three sons, aged six, four and three. That'll cure you in a hurry.

It doesn't bother me...it bothers my folks as i am the only child. I'd like to have a (one) child but that all depends on the guy i end up spending my life with.
as for babysitting...ahhh I've done enough of that.

I've heard from friends that homosexuality is more of an emotional thing and less of a sexual thing. For you is it more of a sexual thing or emotional thing or both?

One more, What is with 1/2 the people in acting in plays are gay, I have 3 cousins (twins and older brother) and oddly enough one of the twins is gay, and the older brother is gay, as for why all three of them decided to become actors is what shocks me?

I don't think anything made me gay per se...I wondered why, had to figure out what the heck was going on in my head, but I never sat down and said "geez i think I'll date guys" I always liked guys from Jr high to now in 3rd year of college it's enver changed. I'm really attracted to what makes a guy a guy--the masculinity (by that i don't mean ripped muscles and such, but like my current guy, he's not prissy, he's not femmy but he doesn't tyr and be overly manly) the guyness. i like my guys to be able to come to a football or hockey game or watch it on TV or to go camping or hiking or whatever, then to snuggle up and go to bed.
Edit: I jsut realized when i was younger that i was attracted to guys and that i never could develop the feelings and emotional bond with girls that i have with guys...i tired and failed and it never felt right to go any further, whereas with guys it's always felt right.

One of my bestest buddies came out a couple years ago. Problem is though that he didn't come out at all. No party, no teary confession, no drama, no nothing. Just one day it's "Darryl's got a boyfriend" and there was very little to no fanfare.
I woulda liked a party or something. I think with this kind of big announcement there should be an open bar at the very least but he didn't even rent a hall or get dressed-up. Effing anticlimactic, the whole thing. I'm still bitter.
So my question is, should I feel cheated? Because I do.
