Yeah, and that was part of the cost associated with not drafting and developing him ourselves.
If you want to rip our young, promising d-man apart because you have no patience as a fan, then enjoy the long road ahead.
The negativity around a young, very promising d-man after 6 bloody games in unbearable. Relax, this is all a process.
I agree. Hamilton is one guy i have patience for. I think it will help when Brodie is back and Hamilton doesnt have to get all the tough minutes with Gio. As much as i was hoping he would come in and steal the show he is just 22 and learning a new system on a team that is sucking.

You can't make the playoffs in October but you certainly can play yourselves out of them. The concerning thing to me is that there doesn't seem to be any type of indication that we're about to right the ship. I just did not see this coming. A step back maybe but nothing like this.
I'd like to see a little push back too. I know they're working fighting out of the game but it couldn't hurt. I guarantee you that Brandon Bollig didn't record a hit tonight. I guess he's a goal scorer now?
When a crusher starts to think he's a rusher, he may soon wind up an usher.
everyone looks like crap out there with the exception of Gaudreau. Monahan has looked pretty solid as well. Hamilton, Giordano, Bennett, Backlund, Hudler have all been noticeably bad. The worst part of this season is the team is being outworked and outplayed by every opponent
Gio has his glimpses of the old Gio and i think he is going to come around. As for Bennett hes 19 and playing on a team that is sucking. Hes been beyter than at least half the other players.
Have you heard the new @ the dome team introduction...
Yourrrrrrrr 2015 no hitting, no shooting, no saving, no shot blocking, no defense Callllllgarrrry Flaaaames !
Wow these guys aet a franchise record 0-4 for the first 4 home games.
Well done real gutless.
There's no "Us against the world" mentality right now. That was the fuel last year. Zero effs given and go out and work your tail off. Just not there. the newspaper clippings got to their head.
I know it early, but one thing that has me scared about Gio is his shots and passing are like pillows. Night and day to other years. If this is a long term thing as a result of last year's injury, that contract has albatross potential.
Of course Hamilton is terrible right now. Learning a new system has to have him second guessing every instinct and on top of that, even if he does get it right the rest of the team is stinking it up. His mistakes are multiplied because of the Flames struggles.
I really hope we don't screw him up because this has to be an incredibly difficult situation right now.
So, is there any chance Bennett goes back to the OHL? Would be kind of a waste of another year of his ELC, but he hasn't been very good.
Disagree. He's been pretty good for a 19 year old. Offence hasn't been there, but he's getting looks. The whole team is terrible, who is he supposed to work with?
You don't send guys who can play in the NHL back to the OHL. Points aren't everything.

Yeah I thought BT might wait to see Gio in action for a spell before signing that one, especially after they inked Hamilton.
But supposedly he's fully healed, and if so should get his game back soon.
Team is playing horribly. I don't see the need to make excuses for anyone. Is Hamilton young and can he improve? Of course. But he is getting paid more than any other player on the Flames this year. And has been one of the worst players.
I am positive Ortio gets the next start. If he is decent, it could be the start of a Hiller/Ortio rotation. Not impossible under that scenario that Ramo has played his last game as a Flame.

It's not even like Oiler suck where you can point to "this guy scored" or a lazy Hall line change. We are just getting obliterated in every measurable way, every game. The whole roster. We can't even hockey.

Well the Flames are proving all of those advanced stats guys right, sure seems like last year was an aberration at this point and they've fallen back to where the numbers said they should be. Too soon to start looking at Matthews?
