I think for most goalies, this game is a blowout.

This isn't a game I look at and think goaltending was our biggest problem, or even close to it.

Hiller or Ortio could have been in net and the outcome would have been the same. Not good.

Thought Monahan really struggled -- I counted at least 4-5 times he couldn't handle a pass or get a shot off. We've been spoiled with his play but I was expecting a little more polish.

Get the stinker out of the way -- silver lining is that getting cold water splashed in your face like that will ensure success in 2015/16 will be earned, not given.

I'm in Vancouver as well and of course, not a peep from 'Nuck fans all day or even during the game. As soon as the buzzer sounded, my phone lit up.

My only response was "nice to see Henrik Sedin show up in October!"

Like others have said earlier, Willis said that Ramo could not be blamed for this game. Yet, I see in the GT and PGT that people want Ramo gone. Which is it?

Ramo cannot be blamed for the loss. I don't think anyone feels otherwise. He's still not as good as Hiller

I dont think that game counts for crap in the goalie race. If it it did its a shame.

Well you gotta look at the goals themselves and not just shot total.

1.) Cheated short side
2.) Bad rebound
3.) Bad rebound
4.) Wideman own goal
5.) Cheated short side

Ramo was our best player, and he did not have a great game. Any way you slice it, he lost the goaltending battle just like our forwards lost their battle and our defense lost their battle.

Bob Hartley asked how he would assess Ramo tonight

"As good as the rest of the team"

Couldn't agree more.

Many of you guys are sounding like canucks fans jesus. Yes it was a poor, disfunctional game where nothing went right.

Relax , big breath in. First game all is not lost. Emotion got in the way but things will be fine.

Ramo definitely inconsistent tonight. Had some very good saves but other times was out of position.

The whole team was out of position. That being said that has been a knock on his game is playing himself out of position.

What!!!??? Hockey started? It's all about the Jays until ball is over! Although was at the dome and was hoping for a better home opener than the last bunch I've been too. They looked tired and lazy

Ryan Leslie - "Are there any positives we can take out of the game tonight?"

Mark Giordano - "No"

Yikes, some of us! Terrible? "Dominated"? Talking about Matthews?

Maybe I'm a naive optimist, or a stupid homer, but I'm still feeling good.

Ferland and the whole Frolik line were really solid.
The top line was good. Created chances in the zone, but eyes are on them now, they can't sneak into the zone so easily. Stajan made some good plays.

Bennett and Hamilton looked nervous. Weren't spectacular, but certainly weren't bad (Hamilton with a few 'duh' moments).

Ramo was super weak. Engelland and Bollig weren't anything good either. Wideman is good enough not to make those idiotic mistakes.

Everyone else just 'was'. Not good, not bad. Just played the game.

Every bad bounce went in, Ramo missed saves he needed to have, Flames had nothing go their way.

All-in-all, not terrible. They're still growing. Saw plenty of brutal games last year, and they still did just fine. Don't forget how they got to the second round last year: they clawed their way in. They got smacked around and just kept at it.

This team still has that.

Bennett was very quiet. Same with Bouma. Backlund a bit as well.

The whole game was just so odd, perfect game for the Canucks to start the season........on the road, no pressure and let the Flames worry about putting on a show. Probably the hilite of their season for Vancouver, but good for them I guess.
