Pennington didn't just hit a 3 run bomb did he?

Seriously?

I'm starting to like Cliff Pennington. 3 run bomb on RF to give Jays a 4-0 lead. He seems to be a solid utility guy and he's finally starting to hit.

Hit one out in Yankee stadium over the weekend as well. He's a solid utility guy at this point of the season.

Estrada with a single, he's actually got a pretty nice swing.

Oh I agree, I just keep thinking he's a black hole of offense, but he's surprised me lately. Nice to see.

Probably just had to get the jitters out of his system with regards to being a part of a winning team and a new clubhouse. Obviously, the baseball IQ is there (ie: the crazy double play on a misplay yesterday) and he can play a solid SS and 2B. Glad to see that he's finally starting to hit for average and that'll come the more regular playing time he gets (until Tulo gets back on the field, of course).

edit* well that's one thing that the Jays wouldn't miss much from the Tulo injury...the elite defence on the infield. this team is playing a solid brand of baseball right now. nice DP from GoGo and Pennington.

Was starting to get worried that he'll revert to the old homer prone pitcher from the Brewers when they got him because of the innings that he's pitched this year and his last 2 outings...I know it's just the Braves, but this is a very encouraging sign and just makes things more tougher for the Jays management with regards to taking Estrada or Buehrle as a starter in October.

Pennington is great!

Is there any doubt AA gets GM of the year? It's not just the big trades he made, but all these small trades for no-name players who really seem to fit in.

I'm watching this game on Fox, and they spent the whole 4th inning raving about the team that's been put together, not just the hitting, but the pitching and defence. They say a lineup hasn't been put together like this since the steroid era. That's pretty cool to hear.

Just need to get to the 8th with the lead intact and they should win. Estrada has been great tonight.

so guys...just for discussions sake, would you rather have a:

a) Price / Stroman / Dickey / Estrada
or
b) Price / Stroman / Dickey / Buehrle
4 man rotation in the playoffs?

I love MB, but if he can't revert back into being THE Mark Buehrle, then I'd prefer option A.

Buehrle makes a great long reliever for whichever starter stumbles. It's inevitable

Definitely go with option A, but keep him on a short leash.

Pretty awesome though to add Buehrle and Hutchison to the bullpen.

The MVP with another opposite field HR 5-0 now. That ball would've landed on the 2nd deck of that joke RF porch at Yankee stadium. What a banger.
