I disagree that it's naive to not teach your children sexual safety. It is downright idiotic and dangerous. You should absolutely teach them about sex and safety. But there is also nothing bigoted about teaching them to save themselves for marriage.

It's interesting living during this period of acceptance of homosexuality. I have a parent that still thinks it's an abomination, but sees no problem with minorities, perhaps because it was around my age when black people and anyone not white were fighting this same battle. My grandparents died before I really became aware of these issues (hey, I'm a straight white guy, never had any of these problems), so I wonder if any graves got rolled over in when I dated a black girl.
