Happy for Gratts getting a shot to play again. Sometimes you just root for a guy or feel especially connected to him compared to others on the team. I wish him well.
Sad he's not playing for the Flames, but nothing but respect for him. Furthest thing from a cheap shot artist.

I still have a lot of friends on that team, a lot of friends I’ll be buddies with probably the rest of my life,” McGrattan said. “And the Flames, they gave me the opportunity to come back here and play, and a lot of good things came from coming back and playing here. Just because six months didn’t go right, it doesn’t leave a bad taste in my mouth.

It was awesome and really, really humbling to read all the tweets that fans were sending me over the last week now,” McGrattan said. “To know I had such an impact on the city, the community and the fanbase, it’s a pretty cool feeling, and something I’ll remember the rest of my life.
“I’ll miss that part of it. That was the best part — the fans. The way we’re treated by the fanbase is second to none. I’ve been in a handful of places, and they’re not even close to what it is here.

My desire to have McGrattan hoist the cup in Anaheim almost outweighs my disgust at the fact it would mean Kesler, Bieksa and Perry would be hoisting it as well.

Great to hear the Flames offered him an office position. He is a keeper and I am sad to see him go.

Well, hopefully he takes the job once his career on the ice is done ...

Nope.
But I do hope he gets a playoff game or two though. There's something unfair about David Wolf having an NHL playoff game to his name but not Big Ern.

Recalled yesterday by the Ducks. That's a pretty late preseason call up, hopefully he still has enough to be their 13th forward and get in a few games.
