Treliving didn't want to mention what the condition was yesterday, so I don't think it's simply just getting him signed. Him getting through waivers first makes sense.
Condition may be that he has to clear waivers to get there and Treliving doesn't want it out there in case a GM picks Reinhart up just to derive him of a pick?
Are you suggesting the details of all trades are confidential?

Here is Burke talking about how he got blackmailed into giving up a pick when the conditions of the Pronger trade where leaked to Florida. (starts at the 4:20 mark)
So yes I would say GMs have a reasonable expectation that the conditions of a trade are not known to all teams unless the teams involved release the details.

Old bump, but it looks like the conditions on the conditional 4th have been met as the Calgary Flames post this:
Quote:
Another 2016 pick was gained in a trade with the Nashville Predators on July 1, 2015 that sent Max Reinhart, originally draft by the Flames in the third round of the 2010 NHL Draft, to the Preds in exchange for Nashville's fourth round selection.
Edit: Sureloss/Cheerio give good reasons below why perhaps this isn't confirmed.

Hmmm good find if that's true and not just an oversight by the web staff. If so, great return for Reinhart who is looking more and more like a guy who will end up in Europe.

I don't think that this is true. It also shows the 7th rounder as being gone to Colorado, but the conditions have not been met on that as Hamilton has not played 11 NHL games this season.
Is it possible that the conditions are worded in the reverse of what we are all thinking? ie. the Flames have acquired Nashville's pick, but it reverts back to them if Reinhart does not play __ games by ___ date.
Would make a bit more sense in terms of 'consideration' in the trade contract between teams...
Conditions:
*Calgary receives 2016 NSH 4 if Max Reinhart plays an undisclosed number of NHL games in the 2015-16 regular season/playoffs for the Nashville Predators. If the condition is not met, no pick will be provided.
So far he hasn't played any NHL games this season.
That's just an assumption on your part, the conditions have never been out there.
Hopefully something is confirmed, that's excellent value for a guy who wasn't need.
Think General Fanager got clarity on this condition when they also got clarity on a number of other conditional picks, including Hamilton.
They list the pick as being on the condition of Reinhart playing an 'undisclosed' number of games, which would make sense I think. The Preds aren't giving up a 4th for a guy that never really looked likely to make it to the NHL.
