Never was a big Kassian fan, but getting the younger player at a cheaper price - and a draft pick on top of it - makes this easier to swallow. Hopefully, this helps us get away from the grinder-heavy lineup we saw in the playoffs.

Yeah, I'm not really happy about Prust going to the Canucks...

Such a disastrous trade after really pulling a rabbit out the hat getting a 2nd for Bieksa yesterday. Man that guy sucks!

Yes, Kassian is a meat-head. But he is also only 24. He still has potential.

The problem with the trade, from the Canucks perspective, is not moving out Kassian (which I agree is a good thing), it's what they got back.

Had they traded him for another young guy with potential that wasn't working out, that would be a good trade.

But they got a 31 year old Prust, who is overpaid.

Why? What on earth is Benning trying to accomplish there?

I think Prust is a more consistent player than Kassian, and is clearly a better team player.

With Kassian's long history of off ice issues, getting him away from your team should be considered a win.

Kassian just got scared of Lucic being in the west and asked to be traded out of the conference
