This was such an unexpectedly exciting season. There were so many "is this real life" moments. The 3 goal comeback against the Kings. The individual accomplishments. Persevering through Gio's injury. Beating the dirty Canucks. So fun. Thanks for a great season. The future looks bright.

Thank you for making my 7 year old boy live, breath Flames hockey all season and believing in hard work and inspiring him that quitting is not option, as well as converting my wife, a long time Canucks fan, that Vancouver is no good and Bieksa irrelevant!

In my lifetime as a flames fan this was the most enjoyable season save the cup win.
My expectations were so low and were constantly exceeded. The hard work, competitiveness and desire to win was juxtaposed so nicely with the selfishness, quitting and off ice drama that was Edmonton. It was great.
As always there will be changes in the offseason, but for now I'm really going to enjoy this

At the beginning of the year, announcing the roster I had a lot of "Who?" and "OMG we're an AHL team!" and "This is going to be a painful year" thoughts rolling around in my head.
Now I know better.
Love this club, love the style, love the attitude. Even the games we lost were exciting. Fans get their money's worth every night. Can't ask for more.
Thanks Flames!

What a season, what a ride, what a team!
So proud to be a Flames fan right now, not that I'm ever not proud, but this season has re-ignited the passion this city has for its team.
Thanks to all the players, coaches, support staff and owners. I can't wait until next season.

Any chance the Flames will hold a pep rally at Olympic plaza like they did in the past? I would love to give them one more standing ovation

Best season since 2004. Probably 3rd or 4th best in franchise history. Such and accomplishment. To me there is no loss only win here. I would have been happy if they missed the playoffs by a point and chalked it up to no Bennett or Gio. I would have been proud if they lost to the Canucks. I would have been proud if they were swept by the Ducks.
None of that happened they gave it all right up to the end when youth and being short handed caught up with them. The landscape is changing and the powerhouses you see today will be fading as we rise, so lots to be positive go forward.
Oh and best of all my son went to his first game, and I got to spend time cheering them on with him. He is a proud Flames fan at the ripe age of 4. That handily beats being at the dome for the Kings game and game 6. Lots of great memories.
Proud of these guys. GO FLAMES GO!

I am so proud of the Flames right now. They did more than the "experts" said they would. This team has more heart and soul than anyone and they never did quit. I think the NHL and all the "experts" will need to take notice and not write a team off.
Go Flames go and thanks for the awesome season! We all bob-lieve in Hartley taking home the Jack Adams! No other coach deserves it more

Thank you, Flames!
What an amazing season. It was so much fun watching this team defy the pre-season predictions and grow as a team. It was truly inspiring watching this team rally and come together after the Giordano injury. It was also amazing seeing this team not only qualify for, but make some noise in the playoffs. What a great experience for the fans, but also for the players themselves. Lots of building blocks for next year.
I'd also like to give a big thanks to the Sportsnet and FAN broadcast teams! Watching Ball/Hrudey and listening to Wills/Loubardias this season was very enjoyable. Thank you for providing a great call of the game!
And thanks to everyone here on CP, especially Bingo for the Game Takes and Cali Flames Fan for the excellent Game Day Threads!

Get over to TSN and vote Colborne play on 1 v 1. He is tied. Let's get his play retired.

I've been voting for 15 minutes and it's still tied. TSN is going to screw him over right before the poll closes.

The best season I have watched as a "hardcore" fan (as stated in the generation thread I didn't become diehard until 2004).
Post 04 I had sky high expectations for this organization. 2006 where all the top seeds in the west lost and we would have had home ice through the rest of the western conference and a 3-2 lead over the Ducks (and a date with the Oilers on the horizon). Losing thane 7 in such horrible fashion at home stung worse than losing game 7 in Tampa for me. Expectations were to win the Cup
07-08 the Flames backed in to the playoffs and 07 they were outmatched badly but almost took it to 7. In 08 they were close to a 3-1 lead but blew it and lost in 7 (even after leading for a portion of that game)
09 I thought Darryl made all the right moves. Cammalleri, Glencross, Bourque, bringing Gio back even getting Bertuzzi for cheap was good. They were a team talked about as one of the elite in the west with the Wings and Sharks. Injuries killed that team we blew a 13pt division lead and were ousted by a young Hawks team
The next 5 years were spent trying to. A&e the playoffs finshing just outside the playoffs for 3 years then finally accepting the inevitable and going the rebuild route. During the years where the team tried to win Phaneuf, and Regehr were traded for little. Tanguay, Jokinen, Cammalleri were all brought back and when they finally decided to end this era Iggy and Bouw were moved for very little.
This year was an absolute treat. We had a team that played for each other and the symbol on front of the jersey not the name on the back. This team has a legit number 1 Center who is only 20 and took a massive step in his sophomore year. Gaudreau spent his 3 post draft years going from long shot to sure thing and he is a bona fide star after 1 year. Jooris comes out of nowhere, Granlund, Ferland, Shore, Porier all get a good taste of the bigs. Bennett goes from the IR, to the OHL, to opening lineup of the NHL playoffs.
The one thing that really stuck out for me was the resilience. From 2006-2012/3 this team choked every time they had a chance. In the early days they built up enough of a cushion that they still backed into the playoffs and in later years it would get the eliminated somewhere around game 75. This year no matter what happened they would come through in the clutch. beating Vancouver in game 6 was the highlight of my many nights in the dome over the last 11 years.
Thank you so much Flames
