Hartley could use it to have Granlund back in for a few shifts, Byron if he's healthy, or just get McGrattan back out there to punch Kesler.

I'm only partially joking.
Well players on the 4th line only play minimal minutes too. And these barely used "spare parts" players are essential when games go into overtime.

Just because our 5 D have been doing well, doesn't mean we wouldn't benefit greatly from a healthy Diaz

On Fan960 this afternoon , Flames insider mentioned that Ferland, Jones and Schlemko did not practice today. They skated before the practise occured.

Sounds like they will play but shows how many players have injuries.....

How cool would that be?

That's incredible! And to think this sort of repair is relatively ordinary by today's standards. Time to head down the ol' YouTube surgery animation rabbit hole.

If someone gets injured, or if Engelland punches a couple of Anaheim faces and gets a misconduct, you could be left with four d men for a potentially extended period of time. No thanks.

Jones and Ferland were our two most physical forwards in that series. Glad they are getting some extra time off to rest, but would have thought they would be back full steam into practice by now. Hips and shoulders is my guess.

Schlemko not skating with the main group is a much bigger concern given he is getting spot duty with Brodie to try and get the other top 3 an extra rest. If he's out as well .... wow...

Anyone hear of Anaheim injuries (beyond the hf stickied injury thread)? That jets series was a meat-grinder. I refuse to believe there aren't a few cracked bones in the lineup. Would be interesting to see if the Flames target anyone specifically...

Um, just turned on Fan 960 and Kerr and Steinberg are talking about Wolf practicing with the main group today. One of our bruisers must be injured. ####!

I think people are reading into this a bit much...if anything I see it as, we need to be ready to be much more physically dominating and Wolf may be an option for us.

If they are going to use any AHL guys, Wolf had the next most NHL games this year, aside from Poirier, who probably doesn't fit right now.

If Wolf is playing, hopefully it's Raymond he's replacing.

1. Sit Wolf down in front of laptop
2. Have him watch AC's Ferland 1st round video on continuous loop
3. Tell him "Do THAT"
4. Watch as by game 3, whenever the Flames dump the puck into Anaheim's corner, their D lay on the ice, curl up into the fetal position, suck their thumbs and weep
5. Profit....

Wolf is half the skater Ferland is. Not a replacement by any means. If both wingers on that line are injured this will be a short series.

Wolf is fast when he gets going, but doing that takes a bit of work.

Ferland is a lot quicker.

Hartley said mid June for both Bouma and Diaz. He also said Gio won't be ready until next training camp...

Really too bad if the Bouma timeline is accurate. I want to see his playoff intensity

The Anaheim Ducks, via coach Bruce Boudreau, refuse to rule out a return by No. 5. Bob Hartley was asked point-blank about Giordano’s availability.

A long shot?

“My longest shot — training camp next year,” replied the Flames skipper.

How about Lance Bouma and Raphael Diaz?

“They’re a little closer — mid-July.”

All right then.

What cannot be denied, however, is Giordano’s stellar season.

I thought "longest shot" really meant will be back for certain before training camp(mid July for Bouma). Essentially saying nothing...
Perhaps I just want to believe Hartley is playing mind games.
