Cornish by chance?

My room mate trained him, and she said he is a real dick.

Sutter is a beauty. I used to work at airport security when I was going to college and I had to give him a pat down search one day. It was fairly uncomfortable at first but we chatted a bit during and everything was good. Every time he came through we would chat about the season, how bad the oilers are, ect.

I met a lot of celebrities at that job. My first day I met Montel Jordan who was a lot shorter than I thought. There would be a large group of them that came in for the ski trip in Banff. Robin Williams was the best of the bunch and didn't seem to spend much time with the other celebs.

I've met most bollywood actors/actress. Ashwaria Rai, Shah Rukh Kahn, et. all.

Mathew Perry was a lot taller than I thought and is up around 6'1 or 6'2.

The best was ripping apart Olli Jokinens bag when he was with the Panthers and the Flames lost. I took a good 20 minutes and took everything out and went through it with a fine tooth comb then made him put it all back himself.

Grew up playing hockey against Lanny's kid.

Got a lot more but some are not for public consumption.

I lived in an apartment downstairs from former Flame Marty Murray for about 8 months. Never hung out with him or anything, but he seemed like a nice and quiet guy.

Also used to be friends with John Erskine's brother, but we lost touch years ago.

Anyone else go to the Flames/Police hockey camps in the 90s? I remember Hrudy was one of the goaltending coaches.

Made a couple songs that randoms have posted on youtube (giving me full credit)... I guess that means I have fans?

That was a cool feeling the first time it happened though.

Famous CPers: I sat behind Troutman and Aeneas at a Flames-Kings game in LA a few years ago. Aeneas grabbed a puck for my son during warm-up.

I have met a number of Nobel Prize winning Chemists.

Were they EDM songs and were they popular in Europe?

At the Vancouver Olympics, my friend spots Messier. He asks a guy with their group if he'd mind snapping a photo. The guy looked a bit unimpressed about being asked, and stated "I don't turn them on" when my friend gave him a powered off camera to snap the photo with, but still took the picture and was generally polite (Messier was not).

We are walking away, and my friend figures it out. He just asked Bill Ranford to man the camera. Whoops.

Oh as for meeting celebs, I've never personally met any one on one (unless you count Tiesto, Dada Life and other DJs as celebs. Guess it counts) but I've ran into plenty. Gerard Butler was the coolest, just walking down the street from the VMAs in NY and me and my buddy said whats up and he said "Hey guys" waved and kept walking. Everyone else was running into limos so it was cool that he was just chillin' walking down the street like a normal dude.

That same trip I saw a lot of celebs but never "met" any of them.
At the VMA's:
Green Day (smoking outside a window and yelling at the fans below)
Jay-Z and Beyonce
Taylor Swift
A bunch of others that I don't remember.

Then I saw Jack Black filming a movie and then saw a ton of other celebs at the US Open Final (Tennis). Justin Timberlake, Doug from the Hangover, One of the Olsen twins, Jack Nicholson, Gwen Stefani and her husband, Donald Trump and lots of others but those don't really count. They would just show them on the jumbotron and then we'd find them in the crowd.

Oh and I don't know if any of you remember when Jordan Eberle was playing in the World Juniors and Pierre Mcguire would talk about him playing ball hockey?

I was on that team the year before and he played a few times. Played on a line with him and his brother and all I'd do would be pass the ball to one of them at the blue line and then they'd score. He wasn't drafted yet but one guy called him out on his Pats gloves.

The next season he played 9 games with them and scored 47 points.

They were EDM songs but alas they were not popular in Europe. Outside of the US and Canada, I seem to get the most of my limited views from Turkey.

Probably one dude in turkey.

I also have some original 9GAG posts that have racked up quite a few likes (around 100,000 total). One of my cartoons was translated into Mandarin. Epic.

I wrote an essay and got to ask Mikhail Gorbachev a question in High School.

Al Macinnis used to live on our block and as kids we'd always hit up his house at Halloween.

"Are you going to win tomorrow Al?"
"I'll try guys, I'll try"

(Dan Quinn across the street just turned off his lights)

Manute Bol was on my WestJet Flight from Regina. Had to sit in 1C and stretch his legs towards the cockpit door. Tallest man I've ever seen, but his knees were wrecked so he limped badly.

TJ Brodie is my neighbor. And I once served Kelly Hrudey a glass of wine at a private function when I bartended at Flames Central.

Not sure what Calgary is like but Vancouver is booming right now. Dollar and the new tax credit should have this place jumping for the next couple of years. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities out there.

Oh yeah, I completely forgot the obvious ones. While living in arriVa from 2008 until moving I'd bump into Flames players living in the building all the time. So you'd do the usual elevator chat with them:

-Gio (had a nice talk with him Christmas day as I hauled all the toys up)
-Cammalleri
-Bertuzzi
-Jokinen (had a really nice family)

Calgary is good, though you're looking at more supporting type roles. Basically if you don't look like a mountain man there isn't much either hahaha...

My new agency is across Canada so great to know Vancouver is booming!

Got randomly grouped with with Jerry Pinder and Al MacInnes for a round of golf (was a junior then, so a million years ago).

Sat next to D. Sutter on a plane for 3 hours. A total of 8 words were exchanged, with 7 of them originating from me.

I go to RBC Heritage golf tournament every couple of years. Have chatted with Ernie Els, Luke Donald, etc etc.

Got a fist-bump from Zach de la Rocha at Lolla. I got dumped head-first over the security fence and, when I got up/security dragging me away, he presented his fist. 5 minutes later, he stopped the set and gave a speech about the crowd needing to take care of each other or the set gets stopped.

My wife met Serj Tankian (I was super jealous as he's also in my top 5 to meet)

We're good friends with Don Burnstick, who is probably the best known native comedian in Canada. Very awesome guy.

Had backstage passes to 50 Cent about 12 years ago. Met him, Lloyd Banks, and all his crew. Back then, that was a big deal for me.

Met Angus and Malcolm Young at our hotel in Winnipeg. They were clearly excited for the photo op...

That's awesome you met the Youngs - even if they weren't all that excited! What hotel did you/they stay at? I'm hoping to see them in Winnipeg this fall (as well as Ottawa and Edmonton).
