I'm fine with closing the old thread, as it was massive, over 18000 posts and 900 pages (wanted to see 1000 but what can you do?).

But for the love of God, this thread's title needs to be changed to Edmonton is No Good II or something. It's been over 24 hours since they were good, praising them that long is sick.

It stays the same until Oil lose!

Oil have a game with the canucks. I'd like to see them win "their Stanley cup".

**hopefully oil fans know this doesn't count as winning an actual Stanley cup!

They might not count it as a cup, but it wouldn't surprise me if Kevin Lowe ordered himself a 7th ring to celebrate...

common misconception around town and the inter webs...considering a tie goes to the Flames a regulation win would clinch even if LA beat the Oilers

if its an OT win and then we lose to the Jets we can thank the Oilers a little bit, although they won 2 regulation games in the division all year

What it did was take pressure off. Even if we lose to LA in regulation, we still control our destiny. #1winandwearein

Why don't we do a poll to see if this thread dies and Edmonton is no good is unlocked.

I think the compassion showed to the oilers by the site mods is rather sickening.

Every true Flames fan knows Edmonton is no good and they deserve no reprieve from us pointing it out.

Booooo to Oiler compassion. Calgary Puck mods need to follow the leadership of their members.

The existence of this thread is ridiculous, and the lockdown of "Edmonton is No Good" is beyond ridiculous.

McTavish for GM of the year and Taylor Hall for Selke and cover of GQ magazine. Edmonton is sorta good.

It was hard to cheer for Edmonton the other night but so apropos that they let in a goal from centre ice as soon as the Flames game switched over to their broadcast I had to laugh.

If they were a band it would be called Bachman Turnover Dive.

The oilers are more than sorta good....they hung in there with playoff teams all year and even beat the defending cup champs. They'll show everyone how good they are by beating the nucks on the last game of the year. I think this team has shown that they have the desire to win and compete and only need a little more time to become contenders.

I love how those idiots win a few games at the end of the year and actually think they're good. I want them to be confident so they can beat other teams for us at the end of the year and think they're good enough to not make changes next year and be the same dumpster fire we all love to make fun of. I don't usually take joy in others misfortune but these guys deserve it. Their 5 cups aren't enough to hold the tears of their fans for being so terrible over the last decade.

Picture the hilarity.

It's 2006. The Oilers have just lost in game 7 of the finals. You tell their fans that the Winnipeg Jets would be in the playoffs before the Oilers were again.

The actual Winnipeg Jets ... located in Winnipeg.
