That's a pretty bad player.

Not good news if he's out for any extended period of time. Been a warrior.
If we get in I wonder if he'll play though, provided the injury isn't serious. A lot of players play through injuries in the playoffs.

Bennett shouldn't be an automatic replacement, but I hope he gets every consideration.

The only way we see Bennett is against Winnipeg if they Flames beat LA and clinch.

Because as we saw last night vets like Hiller don't make mistakes or have "missed assignments"? No one is guaranteed perfection - but Bennett is guaranteed excitement!

Just my speculation but I got the vibe management wanted to make another Colborne out of this guy, but Hartley's not a big fan.
I mean we already had Shore up here as an option but burned the 2nd or 3rd post deadline recall to bring Granlund back up.

Please, enlighten me to how excellent and risk free Shore is compared to Bennett and why, if he's so reliable, he can't hold on to a spot on the team? A team where Raymond and Colborne have spots?
All I'm saying is it's not like we're sitting Bennett for bonafide NHL vets. We might take a little more risk with Bennett as he's fresh to the system but the potential for reward is much higher and Bennett is far more talented. That talent negates some of the risk between him and Shore.

Bennett is already better than Raymond defensively.. seriously Ray needs to sit in the box for a while

I'm wondering if the decision is being made in the way it is because Bennett will have to go out and play some solid minutes and not sheltered 6-9 minutes other rookies started year with. Maybe they have to be sure because it's all or nothing. Bennett either plays zero or goes 10+ minutes? Bennett's upside is higher than the current choices, but his risk factor is way higher too. The Shore/Bollig etc choices have lower upside, but perceived lower risks too.
I wanted Bennett hands down, but that swarm answer he gave throws me off. I trust management is a couple steps ahead and had this conversation weeks ago.
But this is probably moot because Bouma is coming back.

Raymond is playing because he's making 3 million a year and he knows where Hartley hides his bodies.
I would be more comfortable with Shore over Raymond and Bennett. This situation and against a desperate Kings team is not a good time to have your first NHL game. If they didn't play him the last two games they shouldn't play him now.

Would be surprising if you get an update more than it is "day to day"..
Yup
Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
Bob Hartley says Lance Bouma (upper body) is day-to-day.

Funny I never mentioned Bennett or said shore was the best replacement
Calling a 24 year old a "bad player" because he is not yet a full time NHLer is not a valid argument. Shore has played well when in the lineup this year and was a major contributor to the win last week Vs. the Preds
By your logic Gio is a "bad player" because he wasn't a full time NHLer at 24

Bob Hartley said Lance Bouma is day-to-day. I just saw #Flames Head Coach have a chat with Brandon Bollig...I suspect he'll be in tomorrow.

Bennett hasn't cracked the team full time yet either.

Bouma potential injury. Update: upper body. day to day
I'm holding out hope bouma is ok and he'll play tomorrow. We beat the kings and rest whoever is needed to rest. Give Bennett a shot in that game. Who knows? He may dazzle and pick up right where he left off in training camp. He also may look a little nervous and play sheltered minutes like all other rookies have done before him on this team. First things first... Beat LA!!

Man just seeing the look on Boums face when he got hit is not encouraging.
Gio was listed as day to day too, and we know where that led to.
Still hoping for the best.
