Okay, according to Sportsclubstats after the three early games today Flames playoff odds have only gone down by 1.9% to sit at 77%. So not so bad.

It wasnt even that, Ramo didnt have to steal the game and Bobrovsky did. There arent really any goats so we have to move on.

Yeah he had a nice run himself but secondary scoring has dried up for the most part. It is becoming an issue with everyone outside of Backlund and the first line going cold of late.

As for Russell's gaffe I personally don't care if he was front runner for the Norris you don't make that play. That was amature and cost them an important point.

That giveaway for an NHL player would be like the equivalent of a bus driver pressing the gas instead of the brake and accidentally rear ending someone. One of the worst mistakes by a Flames player this season.

Like I said, I'm going to blame it on that play. You can blame it on whatever you want.

(I've seen the play Russell tried to make at least a hundred times without incident. He made a mistake that unfortunately lead to Ramo gaffing on a weak, against the grain backhand.)

Kris Russell? The guy who was acquired for a 5th round draft pick that has turned out to be an absolute steal?

He has been nearly flawless since Gio went down and puts his body on the line each and every night for this team.

Comments like that after he makes a single mistake are absolutely ridiculous. Every person out there including yourself have made a mistake at some point in your life. He makes that play probably 99/100 times but just had a blunder today... The timing was rough, but I will gladly take a guy like Russell on the Flames any day of the week. He has been outstanding since joining the team, plain and simple.

we still control our own destiny, L.A needs to take the spot away from us and they're about to go on a really tough 5 game road trip (where they've been crap this year) against The Devils, Rangers, Islanders, Wild and Blackhawks. I'd be surprised if they come up with 2 wins in that stretch. Meanwhile in our last 10 games we're only facing 3 teams in the playoffs, (NSH, STL, WPG) and one other team that's close (L.A)

Tonight I thought the Backlund line and the Colborne line were brutal in the last half of the game. Bollig-Stajan-Ferland provided some energy but we were relying too heavily on Monahan, Gaudreau and Hudler. Awful giveaway by Russell but Ramo should've had that. We started off the 3rd to slow. But it was obvious that Bobrovsky stole that game. He was spectacular and without him we would've had a pretty comfortable win.

So the entire fate of the entire season comes down to this one play for you. Don't even look into the fact the guy has been a warrior and blocked almost as many shots as the goalie some nights....nope... this one play is what you can boil our entire season down to.

Side note, using overly dramatic examples like the above does not really help make your case.

Rene Bourque, one out of every twenty games plays like a superstar! Why today? I hate afternoon games. I was more worried about the time of the game than the opponent, seriously. We got an important point. Need Winnipeg to lose tonight.

Russell? I forgive you! Ramo? Looked shaky all game. I prefer Ramo over Hiller but........not by much!

Boys its crunch time, we are not gonna slide into the playoffs. Need to win, that one point extra point would of been huge for us.

You would hope Ramo could make the save but without the turnover there is no opportunity to begin with. Russell's been fantastic this season but the Flames looked like a team that thought they were better than their opponents and weren't on the ball.

yeah well.... secondary scoring was lacking going into the season, kind of surprised we were able to hold the fort this long. We were expecting secondary scoring guys like Jooris, Bouma... that would be a funny thing to say at the beginning of the season. Lost Glencross too, though I guess he wasn't scoring. Raymond is to be counted on, but he's incredibly streaky which I guess is why he's not making more money (or making too much, however way you want to see it)

I guess this is where it hurts losing a guy like Baertchi (i.e. having him not develop).... I never mentioned this in the Poirer thread, but I thought he actually created a lot of opportunities for the limited time he played.

Anyways, still a rebuilding team... would love to see one more game breaker, impact player on this team. I guess maybe it'll be Bennett or Porier.
