Locke, Thornton also seems to lack focus...responding to a yapper, like Shaw, doesn't help his game...responding to a GM's rhetoric, doesn't help a franchise.

I have a feeling Bernier might do us a favour tonight

And what's with all the whining about injuries for the Jets? Everyone has injuries - shut up and play

yup. The Bolts also miss Ondrej Palat right now, plus Coburn and Paquette.

It does if it gets Doug Wilson fired

Toronto doesnt stand a chance if they're playing like this. They could be the worst looking team in the NHL right now.

Bernier might do us a favour, but the 18 skaters in front of him probably won't.

DropIt, Wilson may not have had a flawless run as GM, but, he has overseen the most successful Saint Joe era, to date...

His big error, IMO, was to bring back Marleau and Thornton for THIS season...if Thornton was on the outs, after last year, he was bound to be a distraction after getting relieved of his captaincy.

I think the most important game for us tonight (outside of ours of course) is the Jets game. Distance the teams outside the top 8

Paging Captain Obvious??

AWFUL Leaf coverage leaves Higgins with a slam dunk...1-0 Divers.

Chicago over San Jose 6-2 - well I guess that was kinda predictable given all the distraction in the Sharks dressing room!

There really hasnt been too many suitors to oppose him though. Wilson may have had a successful run but this is a 'what have you done for me lately' business, and lately Wilson has blown a 3-0 series lead against a division rival and followed it up with a complete playoff miss.

I have a tough time believing that Thornton is a locker room cancer which leads me to believe that the players in the dressing room are not going to be on Wilson's side when it comes to the latest spat between him and Joe.

He has worn out his welcome in SJ. He will catch on elsewhere and likely do well, but he has built SJ from nothing to the top and then back down to mediocrity and has nothing to show for it.

Brewer has looked lost ever since he came to Toronto. Who could blame him though, coming from 2 potential SCF candidates in the same year to end up in Toronto

To what end? I have seen ZERO evidence to suggest that Doug Wilson is a bad GM. Yes, the Sharks havent won a cup but thats hardly on the GM's shoulders alone.

Jay Feaster (I think) once said something that I thought was quite apt, and I'm obviously paraphrasing:

"Once the Trade Deadline passes, the General Manager just becomes the team's biggest fan until the draft comes around."

DropIt, Locke...Wilson hasn't yet played a GM's most influential card, the Head Coach change...he probably was too patient with this roster/coaching combo, and as DropIt has implied, Wilson's head joins all on the chopping block...Keep, perhaps, Niemi and Pavelski, among the veterans, and hit the reset button, with new team leadership, all the way to the front office, is, now, the likely scenario.

I'm not sure I follow, did he not fire Wilson for McLellan?

And he could do it again, but I actually respect the fact that he doesnt have a revolving door of coaches. Firing a coach to save the GM's job and boost the players is so cliché.
