Too much ado about nothing here. No one benefits from sitting Glencross

This one for me.

The whole idea four years ago was, I’ll play at home and I’ll take a hometown discount to stay here, we’ll bring in a few more players to make our team better,” he said. “It’s just unfortunate the situation I’m in.

Really? The Flames had missed the playoffs for 6 straight years, five of which they were at the top end of the cap. Now, after getting rid of the the high priced talent and bringing in youth, this team is in an actual, legitimate playoff drive and Glencross says this:

I'm at the point in my career where I want to win a Cup. I love what’s going on here and I have a lot of good friends in this dressing room and we have a good group of guys. We play for the 20 other guys in this room every night. And if it comes to a situation where I am going to have to leave, I’m going to miss a lot of guys in here.
But I’ve gotta think about what’s best for myself and my family.

Glencross is a veteran leader on this team and is wearing an "A". For the life of me, I cannot understand why he would undermine the situation that his current team is in, a situation that has them currently in a playoff spot and potentially CONTENDING FOR THE CUP.
An absolute vote of non-confidence by a veteran leader of this team. He shouldn't have played tonight. An absolutely selfish thing to say.
