I suspect the Flames are a little disappointed in Ramo thus far. It sure would have been nice to see some significant growth there. Enough for him to be taking far more starts than Hiller.
I sure hope Ortio is smelling blood.

Not sure I agree with that. Ramo has had a couple really good stretches. He has also battled a couple injuries.
He certainly hasn't been lights out, but he hasn't been bad.
I think they intended on Hiller getting the majority of starts from the get go. If Ramo outplays him, that would be a bonus.

Send Ortio back. Hopefully the boys in the A can make a solid push and go deep in the playoffs. Ortio would come in knowing what it takes to win a championship. Ride Ortio next year on the big club.
The Addy Flames will only benefit from Ortio between the pipes. Keep Ramo and Hiller for now.

If Ortio helps us get to the playoffs then he stays and plays. Right now he's on fire and deserve starts. I don't think he's gonna falter and will make it tough for management because they're gonna have to trade Hiller or Ramo.

The Flames first priority is for the NHL team to do well. If they believe Ortio will help, they will keep him up. I don't think Treliving cares much about AHL championships, he'll do what is best for the NHL Flames and development of the player.

I think he'll keep playing until he loses. Hartley is not going to mess with this win streak.

The only bad goal he gave up was the first one tonight. Nothing he could have done on the Boedker goal, or the other two tonight, and no other goalie would have likely stopped them either. There is no reason to not start him against the Kings.

I think they send him back down tomorrow now. Not that he has done anything to warrant being sent down but moreso the team wont want to carry 3 G's and Ramo should get some gametime in before anything is decided. Start Hiller against LA and let Ramo play against the Ducks...take the AS break and make a decision then. In the meantime Ortio can get some work in and go enjoy the AHL AS game.

I guess that's the tricky part.
I think Treliving cares more about developing players properly, for long term success, rather than worry about short term success.
He mentioned before about needing to be patient and other GM's rushing players.
I think Ortio goes back down as soon as he has an off-game, or loses.

Send Raymond down and let Ortio play until he loses. Send Ortio back at the allstar break

To me the question is what does Ramo do to help you be a championship team that another player can't? To me the answer isn't enough to keep him. Yeah he can be good at times. But durability is an issue. I would move on with Hiller and Ortio next year, and ask the same question about Hiller. Don't keep guys because they're okay. Thats how you build a mediocre team.
Right now, I would keep Ortio up. He's earning it.

You dont want to lose Raymond for nothing...and its all to likely he would be claimed on waivers.
So either you send Ortio down or you send Granlund down and carry 3 G's....which is NEVER a good idea for any length of time.

I don't think Raymond will get you much in return. Too inconsistant with his play. Mentaly fragile also.
Carrying 3 goalies for 2 games until the allstar break isn't a lot of time.

Ramo has played the Kings fairly well.
However I don't trust him coming off injury, and I don't have much trust in Hiller right now, either.
Just find a way to keep Ortio here until the break. It's 2 freakin games. Hopefully Bob has enough sense.

Ortio was the only reason we got one point last night let alone 2.
Send him down, pffft, give me a break.
Ask Marleau what he thinks.

So how do people feel after he gave up 3 goals in San Jose?
For me, this may have been the most impressive game because he overcame adversity. That Pavelski goal could have been a bubble-burster (if this was simply a hot streak). But, despite 3 goals (one a kick-in) and a lost lead, he probably had his best period yet in the 3rd, making several quality saves, highlighted by the beautiful glove save on Marleau's breakaway.
IMO, that shows that he isn't just riding a hot streak but is actually putting in a really solid body of work, and is showing that he has what it takes to deal with adversity and be a full time NHL goalie.
He is still winning and playing well, so I think they have no choice but to keep running with him at this point. Bring on LA!

One was accidentally-screened by our own D-man for an Ovechkin style wrister, and may even have been deflected in.
I think another was a PPG by a career 75-80 point superstar, though I wasn't in the room when it was scored so I can't comment on it.
The last he got actually pretty much got his glove hand on the pass but it's a matter of millimeters and they just didn't go his way. The five guys in front of him should have never let that play develop in their zone.
He looked great out there to me overall. Though compared to the Vancouver game, I do think he's shown to be more capable of absorbing shots but it didn't hurt us last night. On one huge play he stopped a shot, left a rebound, and them stopped that shot off the rebound too which was probably his shakiest play - I can't complain.
