The only thing about Genie's personality I learned from that is she can handle an awkward situation well. There's all kinds of off the court profiles and interviews where they can talk about fashion and personality. Right after a match I'd kinda prefer they talk about the sport itself, like most sports do.
But hopefully we get some more post match awkwardness right up till next Saturday. Genie is up 2nd on Laver tonight so between 6:30 and 7:00pm MST most likely.

I've heard announcers ask the likes of Djokovic and Murray about their girlfriends at the time in a similar way that this went down with Genie and that has nothing to do with tennis either. Its nothing more than someone drawing attention to her off court life. People need to lighten up, if you don't like it then don't listen or watch the post match. Tennis players are generally well liked because they show their personal sides more than the average athlete and they are far more accessible. If some people get wound up about it, that's their own problem.
Its more idiotic for an announcer to ask a player who he/she prefers to play in the next round after every single match and expect a different answer if you ask me. Keep going that route and we might as well get jay bouwmeester infront of every mic and see how that plays out.

Keep it going, Milos and Vasek.

Agreed on Milos. He's playing some of the best tennis of his career thus far in Melbourne. Shot selection and excellent footwork has been paramount in his new found ability to keep rallies going a little deeper before he goes on the attack. This should be another big year for the top Canadian.
As for Vasek, I can't fathom why he is even considering playing doubles when he's already struggling to stay healthy. He just interviewed saying he felt terrible in his last match and instead of resting he's playing again today! Hopefully his team gets a solid plan in place to get him playing doubles more conservatively this year or I worry he will be back on the shelf again shortly.

Vasek withdrew after 3 games today. Smart but probably shouldn't have played at all.

Last time Federer lost in 3rd RD in a Major on hard courts was on Jan. 20, 2001. George W Bush took office that day.

Fed was very rough last night, when's the last time he had nine double faults in a match a major? Or even period? Spraying it everywhere too. Loss opens it up for Dimitrov or Murray to reach the semis now.

####ing Fed.
I think if he doesn't win one this season he might retire. I think as soon as he wins a major he should retire as well.
End on top. Let the legend of Roger Federer live on instead of fading.

Thanks for posting the MST times. I like trying to get my daughters to be interested in sports and they are way more interested if there is a girl playing. So catching part of Genie's match will be great.

Absolute masterclass from Genie right now. She will win the whole thing if she keeps this level up.

Bad breakdown by Genie in the second set. From up 3-0 to 3-5 down, comes back to tie then loses the set after being broken via double fault.
