Man, that sucks. Was hoping that it wasn't something like this when he shut down the site, but it did seem serious so not a total surprise. Condolences to his family.

Many thousands of virtual friends miss his site, but the biggest loss is a young man to his family and friends.

Sad news today. Many condolences.

For some reason this news effected me more than just some stranger's death would. Maybe it was the way he didn't attract any personal publicity or that he wouldn't sell for a quick buck.

That's really too bad. Hopefully whoever carries on what he did there (you know someone will eventually do so) will give him a credit.

RIP. I hope that he gets some sort of mention in the HHOF one day. His contribution to hockey (especially in the online world) was immeasurable.

My heart goes out to his family.

He had an incredibly successful site that he didn't milk for personal gain, he did it as a labour of love, and that is so rare these days.

RIP

Sad news indeed. In terms of building the online fan base that will likely have a big footprint on the next generation of hockey fans his contributions were huge. He provided fans an opportunity to play with the business side of the game that was very user friendly.

This.

My uncle succumbed to it, and hung in for a few years. The last year, my dad couldn't hardly bear to visit him. It was a cruel, awful way, for a once brilliant and hilarious man to go.

RIP, it was a very cool tool, and by the sounds of it, was a very humble guy that ran it.
