This is a team that shouldn't have lost 7 in a row, but they now look like they are going to give the Oilers a run for the longest losing streak of the year. Very strange times.
That's the most frustrating thing. Maybe the arms race starts early this year, and if the flames trade glencross, wiseman, ramo or hiller, jones, stajan, etc, the flames bottom out a bit...
Ughhh just can't capitalize, how many times has Gaudreau had a glorious setup only to have it miss the net, I saw at least twice he coulda had assists... Hit the dang net guys! The levies' gotta break soon this is ridiculous!
And the PP needs to be better that's unacceptable...
It's not that they aren't capatalizing, they aren't generating close to enough quality and our best offesive players insist on throwing blind cross ice passes when we press cause I guess they think its crafty or something.
This team needs to get back to basics, and our jack of "truculence" is really showing. Not a single person on our roster capable of busting up this skid through pure hard work and hard nose goals.

At this point I wouldn't even call the Oilers game a gimmie. The Flames have found lots of ways to lose over the last 7 games, they could probably find a way against Edmonton too
Blasphemer!

Having built up a decent lead early this season, we still have a legit shot at the playoffs if we can turn this around quickly. I'm wondering if Sven should seriously be called back up. He wasn't contributing on the score sheet but:
11-3 with Sven
6-11-2 without Sven (including the start of this streak the day he was sent down).
I like Jooris, but I feel he doesn't have the hands (not yet atleast) to play on a scoring role. How many times has he been set up by Huds and Johnny only to screw it up?
We need a Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler line next game.

Sorry poor word choice shoulda said "Converting" instead... But yes gotta drive the net harder and actually hit the net too. And please enough of the shallow zone drop pass.

Can someone please explain why we kept throwing Raymond out on the PP? Not only is he so cold that they're re-calibrating absolute zero, simple zone entry plays and board battles kept dying on his stick. Beyond useless.
Maybe trying to jump-start him, but do you have that luxury when you're trying to tie the game and you've lost 6 in a row? Jaesus.
A lot of Flames playing mindless hockey right now. We look defeated in the way we play. Not good.
Monahan started the game full of vim and vinegar. But really couldn't bring it the whole game. Not that I'm saying he played bad, but when he double shifted to start the first, I thought we were going to see Super Saiyan (超サイヤ人) Mony.
Gaudreau is serving delicious dishes. The players are on this roster to finish it, but their clenching and just ripping these off the mark.
Diaz looked a lot better out there than he has in a while. This could be a good sign, or a signal to how poorly anyone but Giordano and Brodie looked
Brodie didn't seem as lost as he has been of late. He hasn't returned to early-season Brodie yet, but it was good to not stare flabbergasted at he screen with a #7 bobble this game
Russel looks frustrated out there. He was either invisible, or fighting it.
Hudler is snake bitten, he will get it together but his snipes are exactly what we need right now.
Jooris was... terrible. I love what he's done this year, but lately I've been worried that he bought an apartment too soon. A couple blind passes, watched him uncharacteristically float around a few times and just didn't seem to bring anything tonight.
Bouma had the right attitude, but spent most of that energy re-arranging his own face.
Bollig is worthless.
Engelland had his best game of the season so far!
Engelland is worthless.
One of the fastest skaters in the NHL is one of the slowest players on the ice. Masonraymond needs to get up to game speed to be useful.
Ducks fans are probably singing 'told ya so' right now. He showed us at the start of the season how great he can be, and he's showing us now how the save we need... might not come. Not that I have any confidence right now that Ramo could do much better.
I think I saw 32 on the ice tonight... did I?
Seriously, and I'm actually being dead serious on this one. Was Glencross dressed tonight? Honest question.
Colbore won 75% of the faceoffs tonight. Damn impressive. The Flames won only 45% of the draws tonight, however.
If we were just going to implode in the end, did we have to play ourselves out of McDavid/Eichel contention first?
It's pretty dire right now for sure, but we're not even at the halfway point of the season yet. Lots of hockey left to be played. The window for the Flames to remain in the playoff hunt is closing fast, but they've still got a chance to get back into this thing if they can find a way to turn things around quickly. And by quickly, I mean they HAVE to get some points out of the next two games. I don't care how tough the opponents are. They need to find a way to right the ship.
