I wonder what our record and Montreal's records would be if we swapped divisions with Montreal

No - we're just competing for Stanley!

Granlund is just a such a subtle player. Hardly ever notice him out there but he's always throwing up points.

So glad Gio's eye is ok. Just noticed, he now has more points than the entire Oilers D core. Gio is good, and Edmonton is definitely not.

Off topic but isn't it amazing how the eye is so protected? Like how your face is shaped? The eye is a very hard part of your body to injure. Just amazes me how it always seems like a "close call" with your eyes. For every Berard you have so many plays where the stick comes close to the eye but you are injured near the eye (Like Gio tonight). The human body is amazing.

I saw it in them early this year, this is definitely a playoff team. I'll be disappointed if they don't make it now.
We've only played three of the legit teams in the West so far (4 if you count Vancouver) We won half of them, but one of those wins we were totally shelled. I'd like to believe, but we need to see how we play against the big boys first. Another Chicago game and some games against Anaheim and LA will tell us where we really are.

Also kudos to David Jones for last 4-5 games before getting hurt again.

If it weren't for us needing to reach the cap floor, I don't know how Seto, Jones, and Stajan stay on the team. Nothing in particular against Stajan, but we have players who replace his contributions and then some.

I love watching this team. Absolutely no quit whatsoever.

I don't get why suggesting to continue to tank is the right thing for the Flames. Tonight all 4 goals were scored by players 25 or younger. This team is further ahead than most people expected

Media will question winning because its a controversial topic that gets people talking.
One thing I would like a media member to bring up next time that's mentioned though is that even if the scoring slowed down is there anyway these team wins less games than Buffalo or Carolina or Edmonton based on their work ethic alone? If not, why not push for them to succeed as much as possible without mortgaging the future. If we didn't get Bennett at 4 last year it might be a more interesting conversation, but I think all of that considered winning should not be a concern of any fan of this team.

You only have to be better than the bottom half of the league to make the playoffs. Do we really think we are in that bottom half at this point?

I think Cox's statement is a fair one. However it's a comment in a vacuum. With Buffalo and the Oilers out there, we have no chance. Those teams know how to consistently lose better than any team I've ever seen.

Basically this, and that we should want for them to be tanking for McDavid/Eichel. Sick and tired of this BS. I lose almost all respect for any reporter/analysist that shares this opinion. Now I have zero respect for Cox anyway, but this just seals it.
