If Dustin Penner can't even get a sniff of a tryout, why would anyone want Bourque with another year on his contract? I fully expect him to pass through waivers, end up in Hamilton, then possibly make it back to Montreal if they need a roster fill-in later in the season.

Playoff specialist?

I'm pretty sure Edmonton won't have a need for one of those for a looong time.

Not saying I want to mess with the Flames chemistry, but I thought he looked dangerous in his games against Calgary this year.

I loved this guy under Keenan. He's great when the team plays dump& chase. When he has to play more transitional hockey he's just average. If we want him, then just 3rd-4th line, we need creative transition forwards to develop top prospects.

So happy to see this today. I've had enough of this lazy bum. Hated the trade the day it happened, his playoff last year didn't fool me. He'll act interested for a few games and then disappear for 50. Good riddance.

If you ever saw the guy he had an air of negativity around him. Standing beside him you could just feel an apathetic negative attitude, whether it was from injuries or whatever it's a shame to see so much potential wasted.

The only way I'd be willing to have Bourque anywhere near the Flames is if he bought a ticket and was watching a game in the stands. The guy is no good and we don't need his lazy disinterested play and boneheaded penalties.

Still, remember when he almost put Patrick Kane into the 5th row of the United Center - that was a fun moment.

Not saying I'd want him back, but I wonder how he'd do under Hartley... Not worth taking him in though, we're doing just fine without him.

Keep that guy away from the Flames - his slacker attitude is the antithesis of what we have going on in this team right now.

He would spend a lot of time in the press box. Hartley has shown that if players are coasting they won't play and you won't find a more indifferent NHL player than Rene Bourque. He's like Alexei Kovalev without the mad skills.

AHahahahaha. Is Bork the highest paid AHL player (assuming that's where he ends up)?

yup AHL bound:

Canadiens Montréal @CanadiensMTL
Les Canadiens ont cédé aujourd'hui l'attaquant Rene Bourque aux Bulldogs \ Canadiens today assigned forward Rene Bourque to Hamilton.
