Yeah that is ridiculous. A drive one yard left stays and that gets punished. I get rewards/punishments for accuracy from a wedged within a yard. But no one can purposefully hit a 1 yard square with a driver and make it stop.

I was thinking that the best strategy was to hang back and post a Sunday round early when greens are still somewhat puttable. Maybe Rory will do that.

Pretty silly to have a US open where such a great putter like spieth is 50 50 on 5 footers because he's in one of the last groups.

I feel for day and hope he does well but I don't need to miss the leaders shots to focus on his every step.

Snedeker is making a charge for the leaders after an impressive front 9.

Dustin Johnson is playing really solid right now, tough to see him losing if he keeps hitting fairways.

Spieth in mighty good shape with everyone but Oosthuizen choking under the pressure. Grace goes OB on 16.

And then Spieth goes and double bogeys and Oosthuizen is in at -4. Spieth must birdie 18 or playoff tomorrow, unless Dustin can steal it.

Spieth inside 20 feet for eagle at 18. Dustin makes birdie at 17 and could tie or win on 18.

Edit: Birdie for Spieth, Johnson nuts it 355 down the middle of the fairway. Eagle to win, birdie for a playoff tomorrow.

Gotta imagine it's a playoff at worst now. Hopefully they can put it off till about 2pm/3pm our time tomorrow.

That's two major disasters on 18 for Johnson. Wow....

Should have been more conservative on the first putt. Kinda deserved to lose after that.

He saw how far Day went past.
