Friedman said yesterday that there was a real disconnect between Hartley and Wideman. Friedman also said he doesn't know if it was bad enough that Wideman would want out (i.e. waive his NMC), or if it was something Wideman could live with.

Also mentioned that Wideman is tight with Gio and that might be a big reason he is willing to stay.

I'm not buying Wideman hasn't been told anything by the coaches. I'd guess he's just being petulant instead of admitting he was awful in the opener and last season, and the season before.
