EDIT: thanks to the magic of the interwebz, I determined that the game with the awarded goal occurred in October of 2011. I also determined Bourque was awarded another goal in similar circumstances in February of 2013. He must currently lead all active players in that bizarre stat...

That is just Bourque being lazy. Why be bothered to skate or shoot it in when you can hit the ice and still get the goal.
